Thank you! The set actually had a round stone in it when my husband found it, and he had the jeweler swap out the center stone to a princess cut since he knew I loved the princess cut. The mount and band have some antique-style detailing which I love too!
My ering is 1.07 ct, and my wedding band is 1/2 cttw:
I just had my e-ring re-sized to a size 6 (from a 5.5) so it wouldn't bulge with the wedding band like it did in this pic.

Here is my E ring! We have not purchased wedding bands yet so who knows what that will look like :) It is a princess cut with kite accents. The ring is 1kt total.

@MerryWidow: It kind of sound like you are describing my ring :) Princess cut diamond, petite pave cathedral setting from Blue Nile.
I don't know the carat size, but I think it qualifies. I am a size 6.5 or 7, I think. Sorry for the crappy iphone pics - I need to take some pic with a real camera to capture the sparkle, because OMG it sparkles!!
@Sunshine1810 , thank you so much! I just got my rings cleaned and I can't stop staring at them - and it's been a year of wearing both (well, next weekend it will be), you think I'd be used to them by now!
@sarahbabs: Haha, yes! Yours is just like what I'm looking for....I'm torn between a style similar to yours and 7SEVENJ9's both beautiful! Of course, I love any and all rings (princess or not, big or small, diamond or gemstone) on other people, those have been the favorites that I have tried on :)
@juliesprague: What a pretty halo, I've not seen too many like it before! On the second shot it looks like something you'd see in one of the gossip magazines of the stars with their big rings LOL. (I mean that in a good way)
I know you aren't looking for a halo because of the flush issue but mine is princess cut and it came as a set so my band fits perfectly flush next to my e-ring. With both rings my TCW is just a smidge under 1 carat.
@Running Elley: Funny you should post, I've admired your ring in the past and even tried the set (or a similar one) on at the jewelry store! I love the look, but as fussy as I am I don't think I want a 'matching' set if that makes sense? Or if I do, I'd like one band on either side of my engagement ring which would look great with yours ;0)
@MerryWidow:That totally makes sense, I thought about that too before I had my rings and wasn't sure about that "matchy-ness" of sets. Luckily my husband bought my rings without my knowledge so I didn't have a chance to think about it too much lol. And now since he picked it out I absolutely love it but I can definitely see the way you're thinking because I honestly would have felt the same way. Oh we have definite plans to add a band on the other side, probably for an anniversary. :)

Hi Bees!
Longtime lurker looking for pics! I'm in the process (the very long process) of looking for an engagement ring (my FI to be has no idea what to look for and requested I look for things I like and then he can choose). I know I want a princess cut, and I know I don't want a solitaire (I think they're beautiful, but I had one for my first marriage and would like something a little different this time). I don't think I want a halo, because I want something that will sit flush with a wedding band, and I want my center stone to stand out from the rest of the ring so that when viewed from the top they don't all blur together. It's not easy being so fussy! I know I want my center stone to be at least 1/2 ct (I wear a size 6 and anything smaller looks even smaller on my hands) but probably not bigger than 3/4 ct, and the whole ring probably shouldn't be over 1 ct. total. My fingers aren't 'skinny' but they are short so I don't have a lot of real estate to work with LOL.
OK, so there's my story and I'd love to see any of your princess cut engagement ring, especially those handshots! If you would like to include the size of your center stone and your finger size I'd love to see what different sizes look like on different hands :) Thanks!
