Weddingbee boards

Has anyone done black bridesmaids dresses with plum or purple as an accent color for flowers? I'd love to see pictures!  I'm worried it will be too dark.   

It really depends on the purple you choose! You are getting married too late for lilacs but what about lisianthus? That purple would look electrically divine with black dresses!

PS, that purple in the bouquet of PP is purple stock, I am having those flowers too but they might be a TAD too dark with black dresses (I am offsetting it with apple green hydrangeas and green cymbidium orchids)

@cmvmph:  I guess I'll have to do some research on what kinds of purple flowers are available and in season. I don't really know much about the different kinds of flowers, so I wouldn't even know what to ask the florist for.....

Here are my lovely bridesmaids with bouquets in varying shades of purple (and magenta). The bouquets were magenta gladiolus, purple orchids, and lavendar roses with copper-sprayed leaves. And yes, one of my bridesmaids had purple hair! Perfect! :o)

They wore DB dresses in the "lapis" color. I didn't think it was too dark.

Here are my flowers....mostly purple with touch of pink.

Mines not all purple, but our colors are going to be marroon, blue and purple. I'm using the blue and purple orchids as accent flowers to roses. Kind of a combo of these two pictures

and my girls are gonna have these, again with blue and purple orchids
