I don’t know what your level of sewing skill is, but I just want to encourage you–a pillow is pretty much the simplest thing to make, so you can totally do this!  I think the flowery decoration will be pretty simple as well. And how cool will it be to say ‘thanks, I made it’ when someone complements your awesome, unique ring pillow?

I made my pillow this weekend, it took me about 20 minutes (but I was only using ‘premade’ decorations), sadly I only have a cell phone pic, but I will try to upload it.

You can also make it out of amazing fabric for super cheap–I made mine 8″ x 8″ (unsewn), which I cut from a quarter yard of fabric.  So a great place to use something luxe and expensive without much of an outlay.

My MIL made ours, we wanted something a bit different.  Since we are in Arizona, she came up with a saguaro cactus.  Made out of felt with string “stickers”.  The boys loved them (she also made a mini one for his little brother) and even took them home because they wanted to sleep with their cactuses.

I hate that I am SO bad at remembering to take good pictures of my projects!

Here is my ring pillow–its impossible to tell in the picture, but the ribbon ‘band’ behind the flowers is actually eggplant/dark purple.  I made it of 100% repurposed materials from other projects, which made me super happy!  The ivory flowers actually came from my budget (but gorgeous) TJ Maxx Flower Girl dresses (the dresses got a purple flower instead)

My daughter is having the ring bearer carry a little ornate silver ring box that belonged to my mother instead of a pillow.

here is the final product.

I found the same fabric as our table linens at the fabric store so I used that – ill always remember the linen that way and its awesome too.

words in dark green, a little peach flower bud and then the rings on black organza ribbon.

I wish I had a pic to show you! But….

We are doing a birdcage. There is something inside of me that says “Why a pillow?”

So! We found a very lightweight birdcage at hobby lobby and are spray painting it black.

I am making a bed of moss and then two nests will be ontop of that.

Then, the two rings in the nests. Done! Cute! And… unique! Feel free to borrow the idea! 😉

For me, I enjoy knowing I can display this in our home and people wont think: Oh look. Its the ring bearer’s pillow.

Here’s my ring bearer pillow! I didn’t make it — I bought it from etsy — but it could give you some design inspiration!
