nataliebee829:  Size 4 in the winter, 4.5 in the summer, 1.3ct center.  Some days it looks big to me, some days I wish it was bigger.  If you like large stones, and want it to be your no regrets forever ring, my advice is to see if you can compromise on specs and get a 1.5ct.  What’s his idea of “perfect”  IF, D??  If you plan on upgrading down the road, then it doesnt matter.

nataliebee829:  Well if he’s willing to upgrade every 5 years or so, then honestly, guess it wouldnt matter much since 5 years really isnt that long.  I’ll have had this ring 5 years next year, and I personally can’t imagine upgrading already.  If he can take the loss of buying a new ring every 5 or whever years, why not just wait and do it right the first time.  You will lose SO much money trying to sell a stone, or if you keep it.. it will just be more money down the drain on a new one. Unless of course, he is or will be ridiclously loaded and money is just not an issue.

nataliebee829:  I hope she doesn’t mind me posting on her behalf, but as soon as I saw this post I could only think of one beautiful ring! Mrssloan2013’s new set is absolutely stunning! She wears a 3.5-4 and her center stone is approximately 1.5 carats. I love her ring!

In case you’re looking at more than just a round,  I have a 1.14 cushion cut (6.3×6.18) vs1 and pretty perfect in all aspects to me.  The sparkle is out of this world.

pinkshoes:  Everytime I see your rings, I wish I had done that set! But it just didn’t look as good on my size 7 hand.

Here’s a couple more. And honestly I’d love to go bigger down the road between 2-2.5 is my dream carat size! So get as big as he’s willing to buy because shrinkage will set in!

If he’s wanting to upgrade every 5 years wouldn’t he be willing to get you a 1.5 carat with excellent specs and then maybe don’t upgrade for a very long time if ever ? Just a thought !
