This is not my dress, but I did find it when I was browsing through Etsy last night. I immediately fell in love with it and if it weren’t so expensive I might have bought it on the spot.

@Stassney:  That is so dramatic and gorgeous.

Mine is the Priscilla of Boston Karalyn:

It was a little over 1k (I’m wearing it for ceremony and reception), but I’d suggest you look at the Dolly Couture line – she has a lot of cute dresses, mostly short, vintagey styles, and most are around $500.  If you have a long time, though, who knows what will be available in a year or two – it seems like the convertible dresses are turning up more and more, and that could be perfect for you.

Nordstrom’s, $188 (now on sale, though).  I’m replacing the black belt with a crystal/ivory sash from Etsy, wearing for ceremony and reception.  I really wanted something I could wear again…
