My strap was originally strapless. I didnt feel like pulling on it all night so I added custom straps!

I really didn’t want strapless so I was excited to  in love with a gown that haa blingy but not over the top straps. I still need alterations as the top is too big And I’m too short!

My dress started out strapless, then at my first fitting we had spaghetti straps pinned on – figuring I’d wear them after the ceremony when we have time for socializing and then the reception. I could tuck them in – lo-and-behold, we (my mom, FSMIL, and I) all loved the straps! So we are thinking I’ll wear the the whole time . . . We didn’t like the bejeweled ones, but I’d love to figure out a way to make them a little more special. We also might use the point de esprit tulle cut off from my hem to make the straps. I think we will make that decision at my second fitting . . .

I think the spaghetti strap gowns look best on thin girls with really toned arms…. something I’m trying to achieve!  10 more pounds and I’m golden.  My dress is from the Marchesa Spring 2014 line, and it has really beautiful detail in person.  I wish iPhone photos showed the lace a bit better.  I’m currently considering asking for some more fullness to the skirt (a few layers of tulle underneath), because I really feel like my broad shoulders look unbalanced with the current silhouette.

Its a discontinued Kathy Ireland….I think from her 2012 collection. Found it on the rack in a hole in the wall wedding shop and never looked back! 🙂

Not my gowns, but two of the Fall 2014 Blush by Hayley Paige gowns have thin straps, styles 1453 “Opal” and 1455 “Catalina.”  I think the blush Opal is so simple but pretty; the belt comes with the dress and has criss-cross straps in the back.  There actually are some other spaghetti-strap styles by HP in her Blush and Hayley Paige collections for FW 2014 and SS 2014.
