I'm thinking of getting my strapless altered to a sweetheart neckline (either way it has to be cut to a straight or sweetheart) and I wanted to get some ideas for sweetheart necklines that have some fabric-only embellishments (i.e., no beads or lace, but multi-layerd or whatever). Post your pictures if you have any please!
You can check out mine here: http://inbalsivan.com/blog/?p=1156
I think a sweetheart is sooooo flattering. My dress had no embellishments since it was so poufy, and the top was all ruching.
@MeghanV: what a beautiful dress (and bride too!). Were you at all uncomfortable with how low the sweetheart dipped? I think I am afraid that I will be tugging on the dress the entire time.
Here's my soon to be dress, it's not a deep sweetheart, but I love it! Then again, I may be biased:)
Here is mine - Jenna by Maggie Sottero! It is the sample dress which is a bit big, but you get the idea!

I love this post! I am in love with the sweetheart dresses and I am so excited to be going to pick out my dress in 2 weeks! Everyone has such pretty dresses!
Fantastic post! I love love love sweetheart necklines!! Here are some dresses I found that have sweethearts

Heres mine.. Just had my second last alterations now. And the sweetheart neckline was made out of a safety pin... :P it will be a bit more rounded I think next time i go.

I had two dresses both with a sweetheart necklace. Both were a little too low cut so that's something to watch out if you're a busty girl. With my ceremony dress I was concerned about it till the last day, and then my mom worked her magic and created a beautiful modesty panel on the dress. The second dress, I wore to the reception as is, as I thought cleaveage is more acceptable in a party atmosphere than in front of the minister. Here's me shaking my thing and the dress thankfully staying on :)
Mine was originally cut straight but I asked the seamstress to modify it slightly - I preferred a softer line across the top!
I had my straight, strapless changed to a sweetheart neckline.... I get to see it tomorrow for the first time! Ill have to post a pic when I get one!
For me, Im hoping that it makes the overall look softer.
@justeen: Thanks! I love it too ;) cant wait for my first fitting!
my dress has a very deep sweetheart, but I'm not very busty so this actually makes me look like I have a little more which I like :)
I had mine altered to have a sweetheart neckline and I'm sooo glad I did!
These are some really stunning dresses especially @ PreciousLaur19 I love your dress.

mine's not a deep sweetheart, but still nice

Here is my sweetheart neckline. Excuse the wrinkles....this is the first time I tried on *my* dress (not the sample) and it had just been shipped to the salon and had been in a bag. :)
@June and Meliss! I love your dresses! They are gorgeous! Here is mine. :)
Here is my dress with a small sweetheart neck line. I still have yet to get it alrered to fit my small bust.
KLP2010- Everytime I see that dress I feel like I have made the wrong choice with mine :( I should have gotten that dress ugh. It looks AWESOME on you!
@KLP2010 - I LOVE your dress - what kind is it?
There are some beautiful dresses here ladies!
Here's mine...I was always going to go with something with small straps because I was not a fan of how strapless looked but the sweetheart neckline looked great!
WOW! All you ladies look gorgeous! I love the sweetheart neckline!
This was my reception and ceremony gowns:
@HapaBride - You're a fellow St.Regis bride right??? I got married there this May! I've stalked photographers' blogs for so long (we considered Victor Sizemore but went with Jim Kenndy instead) for St.Regis pictures that I recognize you :) Btw I love your reception dress.
Amazing @Hapabride. The second picture really looks stunning. This might be a side point but who did your photography?
If anyone is interested please check out my favorite flower girl dress
@shopbriarpatch: I'm pretty sure hapabride's photographer is Victor Sizemore. We considered him as well, I love his style.
This is before alterations the bust needs to be taken in and down a bit!
