It's gonna sound nutzo but we're naming our tables after Dharma stations on Lost. FI & I are HUGE Lost nerds so it's fitting. We're not doing names & numbers, just names. Also, we're not assigning seats, just tables.
IMHO I think that naming tables after places that mean something to you is awesome, and shows more of who you are as a couple. Let us know what you decide!
We named our tables after Boulevards in Los Angeles so we have Lincoln, Wilshire, Hollywood, Sunset, Sepulveda, etc.
I haven't made them yet, but our table numbers are going to be named after airports ... my FI has his private pilot's license and we take flying trips quite often. So each table will have the name of an airport code where we've flown together (ie, AVX = Catalina) and a picture of us at the location and the location name on the back. I'll use the "code" on the escort cards as well (we are having a small wedding, so it won't be that hard for guests to locate their table that way).
I think naming your tables after ND locations is a super cute idea - very meaningful!

So, my wedding is three weeks away, and I need to make some table #'s. I am trying to decide between just numbering the tables and making cute signs w/numbers on them, or actually naming the tables (I was thinking of naming them after places on the Notre Dame college campus, where my FI and I met & both went to school). So, I am looking for any inspiration out there!
Also, for those who did name the tables, did the tables just have a name, or a # too? What did you put on the escort card - a # or a name?
