I can't find a picture of it, but I'm looking at napkins flat at each setting, with our candy buffet bag on top and then a cootie catcher on top of that. Kinda like this:

Not sure if the silverware will be at the tables or at the buffet at my venue. I think at the table. The extra glasses are water, wine and champange. I guess they could have one for sodas too, but people usually get drinks and sodas at the bar.
This is a great question. I am also doing a buffet with no chargers, but I am also probably not going to do table wine service - people will just get their drinks at the bar. So should we not have glasses on the table? Does that look weird?
I like the look of whitesonnet's photo with the favors on top of the napkins. I will probably do that with our mini bamboo steamers which will be filled with tea bags.
Yea our guests will too be getting their drinks from the bar and there will be no table service. I guess that means no glasses on the tables.
Would it make it easier for guests to already have the silverware on the table? One less thing they have to get from the buffet? I think it makes the table look nicer and fuller too.

I love this look, the napkin takes the place of a charger and a small piece of greenery adds a nice touch.
I am also looking for ideas.
We will be having gold chargers and our linens are white with gold embroidered overlays, and gold napkins. That is as far as I have gotten.
In answer to your question about why three glasses, it is because one is for water, one is for wine, and one is for champagne.
These are a couple of pictures that I have in my inspiration folder:
Noritake, I love that rectangle folded napkin. I really like the square fold, but the horizontal rectangle is really nice too! Even though we are having a buffet I think it would be nice to have menues.
My mom wants all the place settings to already be out on the tables already. Like, full ones! So people take their plates from the table to the buffet.
We're not doing anything similar to the previous posts...that I know of yet. I haven't really thought of anything for the tables yet except for the centerpieces. I have thought about putting something like this on their place setting saying something like "Love is sweet, treat yourself to our candy buffet" or something along those lines.
We're doing buffet and having people get their own wine/drinks from the bar but we're going to put water glasses on the table. We're not doing champagne so it will only be one water glass for each place setting.
We actually just talked about putting water bottles with our custom labels on the tables. The only problem is that they won't be very cold.
KMSkull - I am interested to hear how that works out. I can't decided if we should do it or not.
I am searching once again, and thought I would post in case anyone else is looking for more ideas:

Hi Bees,
There are a few really old posts on this topic, so I thought I would just start a new one. We are having a buffet dinner and I need to decide how to set the tables. I would LOVE inspiration pictures. I am hoping we can rent linen napkins (50 cents each) but we may end up with just heavy paper napkins. I also don't think its in our budget to do a charger. I would consider setting the plates out and having guests bring their plates up to the buffet but I'm not sure if thats tacky. We will have chocolate brown linens and hopefully white napkins and green centerpieces.
Here is what I have found so far:
This picture I like because it has the menu on each place settings and the napkin tied really neat. I am not sure why each place setting has three glasses though.
I also love this picture with the napkin just draped down the side. We will have folding chairs though not Chiavari :(

This picture I love the chargers but we probably can't afford them. I love the folding of the napkins. Maybe with the menu and a green flower or leaf tucked in?
Please post any other suggestions, pictures, or even just what you are doing!
