I do like the photography style of the moment, but we are too smiley to take only serious pictures. I really like these ones because they capture our happiness, which is huge :)

Since I am a photographer, I like to have a little bit of everything. During our engagement session, my husband and I tried traditional, modern and a bit vintage poses. Here's one of our traditional ones.
We had a lot of trendy pictures in our E-Pic setup but first one is the most traditional one and it actually came out as one of my favorites!

We did some silly ones and a few more traditional ones - for our parents to frame and for the wedding announcement in the paper, etc.

Some of ours were traditional and some were not, but here's one that was...

Everyone looks so pretty! I guess I'm just concerned that I'm going to look really goofy in the non-traditional pictures, but I guess it's good to have a mix of both traditional and more "hip" shots!
@rubyroad10: Thank you! The middle one with the trees is getting framed for the parents :)
And don't worry about feeling silly! Your photog will take so many shots, it doesn't hurt to step outside your comfort zone for a few.
Lovely pics, everyone :)
Our photographer took alot of photos of us looking at one another. But this one was our favorite, maybe because we were looking at the camera.

I've posted this pic 50 times already, but I think it fits the "traditional" category pretty well!

@mandypop: Is it just me or does your FI look like a young Michael J Fox?? In the first pic you posted especially!
Our engagment shoot was a mix of traditional, modern, vintage, etc. But this is one of our more traditional pictures.

LOL. Yes. We get that a lot. In fact... for your amusement:
This was a Halloween party a couple of years ago.

We had a mix of photos in our session too. But here are some of our traditional ones.

We had a good mix. These are a bit more traditional. The chair one is FI's absolute favourite.

I think we also got a good mix. I really think our photographer captured "us" in our e-pics. These are some of my favorite more "traditional" with us looking right into the camera, but I have to say my absolute favorites are the ones where we're acting natural just hanging out and laughing with each other...

I think taking photos outside is very timeless and classic. In fact, if you take a look at some old photos, there are plenty of family/wedding/children portraits taken outside.
Here's a few of ours. We took both trendy and traditional photos, but here's the more traditional types (which tend to touch my heart the most!). Best wishes on taking some great photos! :)

@mandypop: LOVE that halloween photo of your FI, so cool! i also loved Back to the Future though and MJF in general :)
I think this is pretty traditional. I guess his suspenders could be considered kind of trendy though.

We didn't end up using this one for the STD, but we got the most good feedback from friends on this picture:
Here is the picture we did use:
I think both are pretty traditional.
ETA: Our cat scratched me below my eye the day before we took these pictures. I was pissed at first, but now I think it's a way of incorporating her into our wedding since we aren't doing so otherwise haha.

Look, I'm kind of a trendy person. I'll be the first to admit it. Traditional is generally not in my vocabulary. But I really don't want to take engagement pictures of us with balloons or of us borderline making out in a public location or us both facing forward, looking stoic. While all of those pictures are super cute (minus the over the top PDA ones), I want something a little more traditional. For example, I look at this and see perfection:
So show me your traditional/non-trendy engagement pictures! We're taking e-pictures on the 21st, so I need ideas :)
