I have “upgraded” several times. The sentiment of my marriage is not in a ring. My husband only asks that I wear something on my ring finger. Here are the one on my phone. I have been wearing the last set since September.

Technically, I have had 2 upgrades. One was a couple of months after we got engaged. I went from a yellow gold marquise with baguettes that was really similar to my previous wedding set to a 1.4 center white gold moissy halo with matching band:

We have been married since June 2012 and I just received a 2.01 H color SI1 solitaire and a 3/4 eternity woven and bezel micropave band as Christmas and birthday presents.

To me, rings are rings and my husband feels the same way. It doesn’t mean I don’t love my rings and have sentimental value to me – I am not throwing them away or getting rid of them.  I am in love with my rings but I may or may not change again at some point in the future. DH and I both are totally fine with that!

I have a bunch of rings now, LOL.  My original set had a CZ engagement ring and a titanium band (that I still have and wear alone frequently):

I switched to a palladium band weeks after the wedding, it was what I wanted all along but couldn’t have in time for the wedding.  Then for our 1st anniversary I got a diamond engagement ring to go with it:

Then for my birthday a few months later, I added a diamond band.

AND I also have a little 7 stone round band in yellow gold that I wear when I’m in the mood for more warmth or when I’m wearing my other YG jewelry.  I wear it alone a lot, but today I have it paired with a YG solitaire I already had.

My rings can change based on my mood, sometimes I’ll go for a plain band and other times I’ll stack different bands together.  My husband doesn’t care which ring I wear, since I picked them all out myself (even the CZ) and likes to spoil me when he can anyway.  None of them are more sentimental than any other, since most of them have a nice memory attached to them in some way.

@Mrs. Myrtle Beach:  Aww, thanks!!  I know most people think I’m nuts, but oh well LOL!!  I’m sure I’m not done, I already plan on a bigger diamond in my engagement ring (and I don’t like the prongs) but I’m in no rush 😉

My pics will be a before and a “during”.  The upgrade is currently at the jeweler getting the ering cut down to be more narrow.  It was 4mm wide and the new dimension will be 3mm.  My first set was a yellow gold cluster ring with 3/4ct RB center diamond and six round diamonds around it that were another 1/2, total ct is 1.25.  The new sparkly is 1.8ct radiant solitaire with two 3/4 eternity bands that are 1.1ct each.  We upgraded just recently, after 32 years.

I’m so happy to hear that other women like to interchange their rings! My style varies from day to day, so consequently, my ring taste does, too. I also inherited a few heirloom rings and my fiance has bought me a few. I personally still like to wear my promise ring on my left ring finger. I don’t associate my love for my fiance with the ring I wear, as long as I wear a ring showing I’m taken. 🙂 So happy to see I’m not the only one! 😀

@Mrs. Myrtle Beach:  +1

@MerryWidow:  Very Cool!

A few minutes after my proposal one of the things FI said to me was if you don’t like it we can get you a different one. He is so laid back about that stuff too. LOL!
But I do love my engagement ring, he asked me to pick something I like and I picked one that I liked and that HE also liked since we both wanted something a little different than a traditional solitaire/3stone etc.

BUT as much as I love my engagement ring and it will ALWAYS be special to me, I have (similar to you) envisioned after the wedding switching up what I will be wearing on that finger to different rings and bands from time to time because I love fashion and accessories.

So, thanks for posting all your rings! 🙂

@Mrs. Myrtle Beach:  I love your new band by the way, I am looking for something interesting and unique like that for my band.  Yours is stunning!
