MackenzieRaelin:  Beautiful dress choice!!! When my mum married my step-dad she wore a copy of that VW dress (we can’t get VW here, boo! – she was also only in her 30’s so still a relatively young bride!)

I don’t have pics on me but she wore a veil and it was gorgeous, definitely finished off the look. She had her hair in a big bun and the veil was pinned underneath, it was a raw edge veil and finished sort of halfway down the skirt (so it sort of blended in)

I say go for it, its a stunning dress and the veil will look beautiful!

I also thought that it would be too much tulle with my tulle ballgown, and then I tried on a beaded edge cathedral veil and that was it! Go for it, you can always take it off after the ceremony.

I’m wearing a veil with mine! I always knew I’d wear a veil and was never concern about it. This is also my dress without the hoop so it’ll be a lotttt bigger!

Ah! I love the Bride Wars dress. I thought it was discontinued though. I think ball gowns look best with veils or else it looks a little off in my opinion. Probably a traditional or cathedral veils look best.

Personally I think a big gown needs a veil, otherwise it looks a bit off – too informal or something. I’d go with the classic VW cathedral length, raw edge veil.

Have you tried veils on with the dress yet? I’m also wearing a larger tulle dress and didn’t even know if I wanted a veil or not. I did think a cathedral length veil was too much for my outdoor ceremony but ended up loving a walking length veil. I got one with lace appliques to coordinate with my dress, but the raw edge one would probably be perfect for you. Maybe try on some options with the dress to figure out what will be the best fit for you.

MackenzieRaelin:  Thanks! I had some major dress regret and almost went with a mermaid dress instead, but now looking back, I LOVE my dress and my veil!

I am also wearing a ball gown tulle dress, and I am going to wear a cathedral lengt veil, with raw edges and small scattered beads on it. I am making it myself though, so I have no pictures to show yet.

But I did try on a couple of veils while trying on my dress, and I though it looked great! 😀

My dress was more of an A – line, but it was still tulle. I have a Cathedral length.
