I love a SUPER thin french manicure with a square tip…like this. Otherwise, I think just a pale pink or nude polish. I don’t want my nails to outdo my ring (I’m pretty sure the woman in this picture won’t have that problem lol).

I did a pale pink (Essie Ballet Slippers) with a bit of sparkle that was more concentrated at the nail bed and got lighter near the ends. This was my inspiration pic — I don’t have a photo of my actual wedding day nails:

I got my nails done professionally for the first time couple weeks ago, I had acrylic tips and a nexgen gel polish, I absolutely love them!! They’re not too long but long enough, square/rounded tips and a blush pink polish, they make my hands look slimmer and more elegant and if anything actually enhance my ring! The best thing about them is they are rock solid, I’ve been typing, cleaning, cooking(even slammed in a desk drawer, ouch)and generally not taking care of them as I wanted to see how they’d fare if I got them for my 3 week long wedding & honeymoon and they are still solid & shiny, no chips. For the wedding i’ll definitely get them again, same colour as my bouquet, a nice blush/rose pink 🙂

We’re a bit non-traditional. On our wedding day, my nails were black with a rhinestone on each one and I had them almond shaped (like stiletto, only a little rounded instead of a sharp point)

My wedding is in September, but I know I will have dark nails. I have regularly gotten gel manicures for the last two years, so I  will have a gel mani done in my fave color which is a cranberry-ish plum color. I love fall nail colors, and the IBD gel color Inspire Me is my fave 🙂 I also keep my nails ridiculously short-long nails irk me really bad, so my wedding day will be no exception to that either.

kb7:  I only get 1 or 2 brands of gel that work for me, IBD or Gelish. OPI, Shellac, Memory all peel off within a week on my nails. My nails grow super fast and I absolutely need them done every 2 weeks. Most times, I go about 11-12 days rather than the full 2 weeks. But, they stay super shiny and perfect the whole time. I cut my nails myself before going to the nail salon because they wont cut them as (almost painfully) short as I like them. Here’s my gel mani that I got done on Wednesday

I’m definitely getting gel or Shellac as well.  Probably a neutral light pink color although right now I have a pretty mauve color that I’m loving.  I haven’t had any issue with the polish peeling off, but I never pay attention to the brand either so it’s possible I’ve just happened to pick higher quality ones?  I love that I can get them done and they are 100% dry when I leave the salon and I don’t have to be careful with them at all.  The first time I got them done I got home and realized I had forgotten to scrub the cushions on our patio furniture and we were having a party the next day so it needed to be done right then so the cushions would have time to dry.  Scrubbed away and my nails were still perfect.  My nails grow fast, so they do start to look a little weird by 2 weeks, but a regular mani would be chipped in a day, even if I was being careful.  Getting a lighter color makes the grow out less obvious too.  Here’s a picture of the color I have on now.  I may have been trying on my wedding band, hehe.  This particular shot didn’t capture my ring so well, but my nails look nice!

kb7:  Most people I know can last 3 weeks before having to get them done again. I’d recommend trying out different brands and salons and seeing what works for you 🙂

I went with the classis french (although mine are acrylic).  If I didn’t do french I was gonna do a pale pinkish.

I did a pale pink gel polish. My only regret is that I let them cut my nails so short, I normally have nice long, natural nails!
