I am getting a heirloom engagement ring from my FI (we are formally getting engaged. woot woot. My problem is I am not a fan of yellow gold and the ring is yellow gold. I would love to see some heirloom rings in yellow gold. Would anyone like to show me their heirloom engagement rings in yellow gold?

@Waitingbee57: You might get more replies if you post this in rings 🙂
I recently bought a yellow gold antique solitaire, it’s likely from the 20’s/30’s. I am obsessed with it, I adore yellow gold and rings with a history are soo special! I think you’re very lucky to get a family ring :-). I bet you’ll fall in love with it when you have it on your hand.

I absolutely adore my vintage, heirloom ring that is yellow gold (or as I call it – gold). We used the center stone from my great-grandmother’s ring and the setting from my husband’s grandmother’s ring. And my husband designed the basket setting that brought them together. I kinda love it. And I really love using gold. It is so much warmer than the silver metals.

Mines from the 1940s and I absolutely love it! It’s a yellow gold band/ shank and white gold head.

@Waitingbee57: Beautiful rings ladies!! I wasn’t a big fan of yellow gold in the past but now I love it. We had an heirloom ring as well as some other pieces; a sapphire, some platinum & some loose gold. I wore the heirloom ring for a while so I got a little attached to it, but we decided to melt it down with the other gold and create a new ring. I’m not sure if that’s an option for you, but it doesn’t take much to alloy yellow gold and make it white. I chose to stick with the yellow because I think it looks better with my skin tone, but if you still don’t like it, you could give that a try!
I wish I had a photo of the original ring, but the first picture is of the ring we created. The second picture is another heirloom ring my Grandmother gave me on my 16th birthday which I also adore. I’ve worn it every day since then :).
