im not quite sure yet what ill use to hold them up..,.
and these are my favor boxes
now, Show me yours
i find it interesting to see what other people have come up with
Our table numbers are all places we've been together. They are sitting on 3-legged gold easels.
Mine aren't 100% DIY because I didn't make the frames, but we needed something simple since we will be having 45 tables.
@sboston06 - love the idea of using travel photos for table names! I wanted to do this, but since we have such a large guest list, I was worried it would cause some confusion.
@October2010Bride: I love your numbers... very romantic and classy without being stuffy. Gorgeous!
We framed our STDs (which FH designed) and glued scrabble letters onto IKEA frames. Our tables are named after trees because we have a rustic theme.
@VagabondGurl: the combo of the tree graphic, the natural wood frame, and the scrabble pieces is so unique and creative! love it :)
wow 45 tables...well they look nice.
and i love the scrabble tile idea. looks great
@Miso: i love the wine bottle idea..i went to a wedding not too long ago and it was a 60s theme and the center pieces were simply a wine bottle with a peacock feather and white rose. was very simple but worked with the rest of the decor and venue
I always love showing off my table names, so here they are once again! They were dollar store frames and I used an antique pewter finish kit I bought at Michaels. I don't have pictures of the one we are using for the sweetheart table, but that one is named "Chesapeake Bay" (because we are getting married in Baltimore) and has a fancier frame.

Here are mine, I cut them out using an exacto knife and then glued 'em onto cardstock. The birch holders I got off of Etsy. Yay!
Oooh - I love these! You girls are giving me some great ideas/inspiration!
@Rgeddy: LOVE your table numbers! And your centerpiece!
@trailmix: I love your idea...I think I might have to borrow it! :)
@sboston06: LOVE! Where did you get the gold easels?? Also, are your photos laminated?
My table numbers are still in production (because they keep falling to the bottom of a very very long To-Do list!), but i think the pictures I have so far give you a pretty good idea of what I'm trying to do. I plan to do a full How-to for interested people once i'm finished with all the boats.
My table numbers are actually sailboats I've built, painted, and numbered myself! Each sailboat is white with a muslin sail which has a Navy colored number (1-15) on it in AlphaRope font. I LOVE my table numbers and can't wait until they're done and I have pictures!
^The boats after i've assembled them, getting their first coat of white paint.
^The sails right after I ironed on the numbers. Not all the sails are in the above picture, as initially I messed a few up. I still have to redo the screw-ups.
@October2010Bride: do you mind sharing where you go those photo frames? i've been looking for something similar but couldn't find one i like :(
Here's what I started with, but I'm changing some of the pics to more "beachy and/or tropical" ones. sniff, sniff...good bye nyc skyline that was so instrumental in getting me and Mr. Swiss (back) together. Ah well.....
@rabbit: love the sailboat idea. that it is really original. i havnt seen anything like it
@Swiss Miss to Bee: i like these, a lot. im actually thinking of re-doing mine now
but with "famous" love pictures..like the one in times square of the sailor and the nurse kind of thing
@clarebee: No, they are not laminated. My sister did a similar thing for her wedding and laminated them and I just didn't like how it looked. My photos are printed on metallic paper, which gives them a shiny look. My sister bought the gold easels from someone on the Knot for her wedding last September. I'm not sure where the original person got them from. If your wedding wasn't coming up so soon, I'd offer to sell them to you after my wedding!
@cllyons: Thanks! I've not seen a single thing like it either! Its pretty work intensive, but surprisingly cost-effective!
@rabbit: i bet but they look great..
im not being so "cost effective" i keep changing my mind and the more i see peoples ideas i continue to change
@cllyons:Oh that is such a good idea!! Post pics if you do! I did them on Picnic.com. I love that site!! Then I just attached them to brown scrapbooking paper, then diff. patterened scrapbook paper that "goes with" our colors or whatev. they are double sided.
Oh wait but yours are so pretty! Well, whatever you decide to go with I'm sure they'll be fab!!
These are mine, which I posted a while back, but I'm always happy to show off :)

we did ours on old paper I'd accumulated from getting samples of other wedding invites! It worked awesome and DH did all the photoshopping!
