you know, that little picture that lets everyone know who you are. I hate squinting and trying to see all the details in them; they're so tiny! so let's show 'em off full sized :) and tell the stories behind them, if any exist.
I'll start...
This is a photo of a sign that hangs outside one of my favorite places in Disneyland - the Golden Horseshoe, where Billy Hill and the Hillbilies play!
My roommates and I in college blew this up and hung it just inside our entryway to our apartment. It makes me smile every time I see it. It says "The Dutch Girls" (we added that part) because for some unintentional reason, we were all dutch that year. I'm 100%, one of my roommates was also 100%, one was 50/50 Dutch/German and the last was 25/75 Dutch/German but had a really Dutch last name. It was very strange.

Oh DD I didn't realize that's what it was?! Mine is a DIVA because well I'm a diva lol!! Seriously i had several people in my family contact me after they heard beyonce's song and say that i reminded them of the song.

Oh wow, now that I see this blown up...it looks ridiculous!!!! It looks much better as a tiny avatar!
Haha! I like this thread! Although, I'm slightly embarassed with my picture blown up! Me and 2 of my bridesmaids were in Atlanta last November, and we were mugging for the camera. The next morning when I sifted through my photos, I found this one and I thought it was hilarious yet awesome!

Mine is a grape hyacinth bout I found somewhere online, that is the inspiration for my fiance's bout for the wedding. Grape hyacinths are my favorite flowers, and I thought it would show up really well in an icon :)

Great idea for a thread!
Mine is a cropped version of... well, me! I commisioned an artist on Etsy to do a watercolor of a favorite memory of my husband's. Then I framed it and gave it to him as a gift the night before the wedding. He loves it! The memory is of the night we met and I poured my beer in his glass while he was in the bathroom.

i never knew what yours was before. Mine is just a pic of my Ering in a rose bush.
Mine is a photo that a friend and coworker of FI took. She had just bought some super expensive DSLR camera and wanted 'models'.. FI and I aren't exactly the modeling type.. lol

I finally put up an avatar!! :) I decided that I didn't want to spend time editing the daisy picture I want, so I'm putting the other picture of the Daisy up!! (That's her name) maybe I'll put up the other one, but this one's nice!

@mskalinin I love how original & sentimental it is to you and your husband.
Mine's a picture of the FI and I dancing at a friend's wedding. Their photog. caught it while we were joking around on the dance floor. I have his tie in my teeth while he's holding both of our drinks. We're both sweaty messes, he's got this weird grin on his face & you can't even see mine but it's silly & I just think it's a fun pic.

@daydream... I had NO idea what yours was before. :) I kept thinking it was a ring, looking at it and deciding it was something else, and then forgetting and having the conversation all over again with myself later! lol...
Mine is full size already, but it's a marigold flower. I don't have any particular love for marigolds, but when I was trying to post an early incarnation of my wedding invitations at my blog I wanted to use a false name that was roughly the same "shape" as my real name (same first letters, similar number of tall and short letters) and I ended up using "Marigold" as a middle name. They're also common flowers in Indian weddings so it was the first thing I thought of when I found Weddingbee. :) Now it's my avatar pretty much everywhere. ;)

I like this thread!! Mine is a shell just to represent my DW in Aruba!! Of course I tried a pic of the FI and I, but thought it was too small (of course), but to keep in the cartoon avatar theme of the bees, I chose this!! I know, boring huh?!

Mine is just an E. My parents nick named me The Divine Miss E when I was very young. It was when Bette Midler came out w/ her The Divine Miss M album. So that's what I went with. My entire family (and some co-workers) call me E still. The only person that doesnt? My hubby. :D
