@Sassy-Southern-Belle:  it’s gonna be a lot of bling! you should rock whatever you want, but i would be concerned about 1) people thinking it’s fake or 2) it being a safety hazard. 0.0 especially with a halo it’s going to cover the entire width of your finger.

for reference, my center stone is 1.01, and the total carat of my ering is about 1.8 carats. (my band adds another .9) and I have a size 4 finger.

Your title is very different than your poll and post. I feel conned into clicking.

I love my halo ring with a 1.5 ct center. For my halo though that size stone was really not necessary IMO because the stone protrudes from the halo instead of sitting nicely in it will the halo wrapping all the way around. My finger is 6-6.5, can’t remember which. I was engaged four years ago.

Anyway, I don’t know if your ring will swallow your hand. I find large scale halo rings to look a bit gaudy. I now prefer cushion or oval rings when the ct wt climbs toward two- with or without halo.

Here’s a pick of mine. Split shank halo with .34 ct G diamonds and milgrain detail. Center stone is round brilliant 1.5 D color, S1. Metal is palladium. My band is .26 ct G diamonds.

Your stone sounds very similar to mine – 1.86 cts, G color, SI2. I have size 7.25 fingers though so yours will look bigger than mine. I’d say don’t get a halo, mostly because I don’t love them with rounds and I think they’ll go out of style. Plus that’s a good size stone! Let it shine!

Mine swallows my finger but I love it because I wanted one that reminded me of my DH’s eyes in size and shape and my favorite number is 10 so the center stone is 10mm in a halo – equiv of a 3+ carat center stone.  Total width is approx 15.4mm, ring size 5.5 (finger 5 just like wiggle room, hate tight rings).  This ring is everything I wanted and DH and I love it so taht’s all that matters to us 🙂

I don’t have the stats on hand but the center diamond is 1.5 and the ring size is 6.5. Im not a fan of halo. I like classic designs.

I say get what YOU love b/c YOU and only YOU will be wearing it , and at the end of the day if you get it with the halo and don’t like it you can change the setting vice /verse … I think that will look great on your finger esp. if you’re going for the blingy look. here is a video that i love of a 3.3 carat round with halo and band , to ME this is a halo look done right …

@Sassy-Southern-Belle:  With a ring that lovely, I would forgo the halo.   Mine is a 2 and a quarter oval (sorry, not round).  Attaching pic for reference.  .  Size 4 finger.

@ceebree:  1.9 ct with or without a halo is not “weirdly big”.
