Hi Ladies,
I was hoping that brides who plan to wear a mermaid dress or those who have wouldn't mind sharing their dress here. I'm considering purchasing a mermaid dress but I'm having problems committing. :P I would especially like to see lace dresses!
Here is the dress I may purchase soon and if I do I may get it in champagne (the one in the picture is ovory):

I do not have a picture of my dress on me. I just ordered it but I love it. Is a Casablanca dress style 1957 trumpet dress!
I feel like I posted my dress in a million threads so I won't do it again but may I just say the dress you're considering is beautiful... I love love it! Lovely lace and fits you perfectly. What's making you hesitate?
Thanks for the lovely compliments ladies! :) Lovebug 333, I love the layering of your dress, I tried one on that was quite similar and I did like it but, I didn't like how square I felt it made me look in my upper torso- did you find an idea for a sash yet?

I am getting fewer ruffles (it is a boutique that builds custom dresses) but I am in love.

Leafy, the dress is gorgeous and soooo flattering!! All the dresses on here are beautiful. Here's mine - - it's not lacy at all and still needs to be shortened.

@leafy: i love your dress as well!! it's stunning and everyone here's dresses are gorgeous!! my favorite part is actually the bottom where it's plain, i LOVE how when i walk it's not restrictive but it's very dramatic lol.... i love this dress and pray my mom doesn't fall in love with another when we're dress shopping...
@Leafy - It's funny b/c I never thought I was a fan of lace until I walked in the Bridal Boutique and saw this dress. I love it so much. I am just trying to figure out the shoe part. Don't want to break the bank but need the shoes to speak to me.
Oops. Sorry! I'm still trying to get the hang of this...(I'm way too new and that just gave me away) I hope it works this time.

@meliss: I have seen your photo on here Soooo many times but every time i'm like "oh wow! look at that one!" and then i'm like "oh that meliss" LOL Love your dress!!!!
@ nic1520- I tried a dress very similar on and I did really like it but I was so stuck on having lace that I said no to it. Your dress is lovely and I like that it's not strapless.

Here is me in the muslin, it is NOT the actual dress - the real dress has an intricate beading pattern completely covering it that looks like lace and crystal buttons (sounds weird but is actually quite stunning)

These are so pretty! I love mermaid gowns---they're so feminine and va-voom-y! : ) My dress isn't in yet, but it's a mermaid, too. I can't wait to see it in person!

@ crebe - You TOTALLY look better than the model in your dress!
Here's mine (altho having 2nd thoughts now that it's too "formal" & restrictive--but maybe I'm just in a "mood" lately).
@moneypenny02 - Please don't change your dress! That's one of the most memorable dresses I saw on this board, I remember seeing it when you first posted it and thinking "wow!".
Which store is that in LA, Karoza's? I think I've been all over town (and OC) searching for mine but they all blur into one after a while :)

@ meliss & crebre - thanks ladies!! I think I started to feel like it was "too much" lately since I was thinking about scrapping the whole wedding plan & just doing a restaurant somewhere or something to save a lot of money. That's kinda why I was wishing I had gone for something simpler that I could wear in that situation too (even thinking about how much I could get back for the dress if I tried to sell it!). Anyway, around 3am last night I had an idea that *might* save a significant amount of money without totally giving up my venue. Fingers crossed!

If you are still looking for more possible places, definitely stalk Yelp! I think all of the dress locations I found (even those that I ended up not going to) were through Yelp! and a number of different brides' lists of bridal shops, etc.
Here's mine...probably not a "mermaid" exactly but it is "mermaid-ish" But mine is ivory, not pink like in this picture :) And I'm going to alter it to add a sweetheart neckline, and probably replace the flower. And maybe do something to the skirt to make it less full. I don't know.

I think the woman called it a "modified mermaid". Not a great picture because you can't see the detail on the bodices and the back is the best part! But its what I've got until my dress comes in!
