I know depending on many variables, the cost of videographer varies greatly. so far the type of videography I liked I received quotes from 3500 to 10,000!! so I wanted to ask you Bees who’s hired a videographer how much it cost you? were you happy with it? and if you can PLEASE share your beaaautiful videos with us I would really really greatly appreciate it.
FYI, I will be getting married in northern california – mountain view/ palo alto/ san francisco area!
the reason I’m looking for a great videographer is because most of my extended family are in Korea and will NOT be coming to my wedding. I wish to find a videographer who will do an excellent job of making a wonderful cinematic film that captures the essence of the day AND enough details to make the people who didn’t get to come to my wedding feel involved!
I will be doing korean wedding (Paebaek) AND chinese tea ceremony (Preferably a day before the wedding!!) in addition to the traditional church wedding. and those 2 asian ceremonies will be done with just our families and few very close friends, so I hope to be able to show a clip of it during the reception.
so the qualities that i’d be looking for in my videography package is: at least 2 days of coverage, some clip (i guess same day edits?) to show during reception, and a full cinematic film for later. with at least 3 copies of DVD’s.

You should check out my videographer. I am in nyc and I am paying 2,000. Maybe you can set something up with him since he does do destination weddings. He did somebody that I know’s video and he is absolutely wonderfull at capturing the essence of the wedding. You should check out the website for the highlight videos http://www.emotionpicturesnyc.com/ or this you tube video of their wedding http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0V4kBtc2aQU

I’m in the northern Bay Area, and we are using Thomas Hughes out of Marin. They offer a whole range of packages, and the one we settled on was about $2,000. Here’s their blog with samples . They’ll send you all the package info if you email them.

My videographers were fantastic! After the wedding, I can say that they were money well spent and if you don’t have a room for a videographer in your budget take a look at cutting back on something such as flowers, DIY some decor or stationary, less food/alcohol, for go a champagne toast, there are many ways you can cut back elsewhere so you can have a lasting memory of your wedding.
So here’s our wedding video by Beautiful Day Films in Arizona but they’re moving to San Diego. We paid under $2000!

We loved our videographer! He totally understood our vision for the day of having something dramatic and a little bit over the top. He’s located in Orange County, but might be willing to travel!
