I didn't do hostess gifts for my bridesmaids at my shower. I think that the bridesmaid's gift pretty much covers that. If someone other than my bridesmaids hosted something for us, then I did get them hostess gifts (for example my bosses threw us an engagement party at their home).
It doesn't have to be something major - you can give them a bouquet of flowers or something like that. Think of it as you would if you were going to a dinner party: What would you bring the hostess? A bottle of wine or flowers, etc. Keep it simple! Good luck!

I'm having my shower the day before my wedding - due to time/location etc. Do I have to bring a hostess gift? The girls threw the thing together last week and I already feel generous buying them bridesmaids gifts 6 months prior to any parties. The stress of having it be something they "were obligated" to do, and having it be 24 hrs before the wedding leaves me no time to shop for more gifts.
thoughts?
