With my friends, the MOB usually gets something bigger off the registry and a piece of white lingerie for the wedding night.
I would get her a larger gift off her registry or a sentimental gift like nice jewelry.
My mom got me something big off the registry and something little and more personal.
For one daughter I got her the set of pots she wanted and also the set of luggage, and filled the luggage with smaller gifts. The personal item I got was her earrings to wear on her wedding day...diamond and pearl drop.
For the other I bought all of her larger serving pieces, flatware, and a patio set with 6 chairs and umbrella. I also bought her wedding day earrings, which were diamond drops.
I agree with the rest...get something bigger and a more personal gift.
