I have an upcoming shower that is being given by my DH’s aunts. There are about 5 or 6 of them. I am clueless as to what to get them. They are all retired, country, Southern ladies, and have everything and anything you could imagine. Anyone have any ideas or want to share what you gave your hosts as thank you gifts? Thanks!

How about a food basket? Harry and David for fruit or another company for muffins/baked goods or something similar?

Savannah Candy Kitchen Gophers: http://www.savannahcandy.com/product/Milk-Chocolate-Gophers-Turtles/ you can’t get much more southern (and unique..i have yet to find these ANYWHERE else) than these babies. THey’re nice candies, too, not chintzy.

I was going to do something edible and sweet for my 4 hostesses. But one is dieting big time, one’s husband just had a heart attack and they’ve switched to healthier eating habits, and my FMIL just found out she had Diabetes. So tomorrow I’m going to try to find out if I can find some potted Gerbera daisies and put them in a nice little pot (I’m doing to DIY-paint a terracotta pot) and give them each a little thank you card. I haven’t figured out a plan B yet if I can’t find the potted flowers.

Thanks for the ideas! I love the idea of little potted plants, I think I’ll be doing that and OMG LOVE Savannah Candy…it’s been forever since I’ve had some. I think I’ll order some and put them in little baggies for everyone with thank you cards…although the mister has asked I double check on the candy cause I think some of his aunts may follow a sugar free diet.

I love your potted plant idea – or the Harry adn David basket.

I’d go with the potted plants. If not flowers, then something green. My mom has our bay window at home filled up with greenery that she received years ago and has just continued to grow.
