I got mostly registry things. A few people bought things that weren't on the registry. We also got 2 gift cards to where we're registered. My lingerie was given to me at the bachelorette party.
I think it's mostly registry gifts. My mother however is super bummed about not being able to bring me lingerie (WTH?!). I don't know if she was just trying to harrass me or if she really wanted to do it - I told her if she really wants buy me something she can give it to me when we all get together before the wedding.
I got mostly stuff from my registry - and was really surprised by how generous people were! I got two pieces of lingerie - one from my aunt, one from my mom - but both were really classy, beautiful nightgowns rather than gross stuff. I was really nervous about getting lingerie, but as so pleased with what I did get that it was not embarassing at all.
Okay thanks ladies. My church family is going to be there and I didn't want to be pulling out sexy lingerie in front of them and FI's mom. aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh I am going to turn red enough when I open the gifts at the Bach Party, lol
LOL my grandma got me lingerie. It was funny. I think you can expect mostly from the registry, maybe some money, and a few off-registry purchases. That was my experience.
I didn't get any lingerie. I got one gift card to VS. I got mostly registry items and gift cards, and I'd say 30% non-registry items.
At my first one I received kitchen gadgets that I really needed, but that I didn't actually register for. At my second one I didn't get anything I needed really.
Those kinds of gifts I can deal with. I was just telling FI last night that i hope we get lots of registry gifts at the shower, so we'd be halfway there and the rest can be gotten for the wedding. :)
@Jacqi: I would most definitely not mind a VS gift card.

I am just curious as to what kinds of gifts people give for Bridal Showers. Are they only gifts from the registry or do they include other things?
I am having a Lingerie Party as part of my Bachelorette Party, so I don't really want people to bring lingerie to my regular showers...that'd be too embarassing.
