I have several showers being thrown in our honor (which I am so appreciative for!), but I am beginning to feel like they may all seem the same. We have two "Couple’s Showers" and two "Ladies Showers" planned so far. The problem is that a lot of the same guests will be invited to all the showers and I want to kind of mix it up.
My FH suggested an idea yesterday that I am trying to incorporate into one of the couples showers. He thought than rather than people bringing more gifts, maybe we could do a wine themed cocktail hour and ask each guest to bring a bottle of their favorite wine to help stock our wine cellar? Oh, when I say "wine cellar" I mean "wine rack in the hall closet".
Any suggestions on what to call this type of shower on the invitations? Would this be an appropriate shower theme? Has anyone done or seen something like this before?

I have read about showers where it’s a "stock the liquor cabinet" party and guests are asked to bring their favourite booze so the couple has it on hand for their next visit.
Also,,I’m not sure whether it’s necessary to invite the same people to each of the four showers… I would think just one or two at the most (exception being bridal party/siblings/parents/etc.). I might seem kind of gift-grabby otherwise?

themes are always good. But isn’t it strange to have all the people come to all those showers? I mean, nobody’s going to come to like, 3 of them AND bring 3 gifts. I think your hostesses should coordinate to throw them together. I agree, it looks a little gift-grabby.
My bridal party/mom didn’t come to the shower my FMIL/FSIL threw me. Most were out of town (including ma) but they’re coming to next saturday’s!
Around the clock, black and white, stock the cabinet, bedroom stuff (sheets, not the dirty stuff!), bathroom, KITCHEN <~always good,.

I had people who overlapped at multiple showers. To avoid making people feel like they have to bring more gifts, I just asked the hostess of the later ones to include a note stating that we would just love their presence.
