Is green one of your wedding colors? If so, you could mention to your BMs that it would be cute to have the color incorporated into your shower. If it's not one of your colors, maybe suggest to help get decorations and then slip it in that you'd like it to be green?
I would probably suggest it to your BMs for their shower rather than your FMIL (unless you two are really close).
What about trying to get the FI to mention it to your FMIL? Like "She likes green a lot. She told me she's always wanted a green and white shower/party/birthday cake."
I agree with @whitesonnet, try having your future hubby drop some hints!
My mom and FMIL are throwing my showers so my mom is just using a combo of my favorite ideas as well as hers ;)
also, it may help to have some photos that you love to show some inspiration...
do you ever email you FMIL? you could send the photos yourself of "a really cool idea you saw" :)

I am probably going to see about mentioning it to my mom or show some photos of a green shower to one of my BM's at work. His side's shower is apparently close to done in the planning process! I have no idea what it'll be like, so here's to it not being orange! (Nothing against you brides with orange, I just really don't like the color).

I have 2 showers scheduled now, one hosted by the BM's and my Mom, the other hosted by his step-mom/aunt/step-mom's best friend.
I've always dreamed of a green shower. Like perfect apple green and white.
Since they're hosting, I don't feel like I should be in the middle of planning, but I don't think the BM's have any theme nor will they. Can I suggest the green color theme? If so, how should I do it?
