when attending showers::
do you prefer rows of tables to sit at the entire time- lunch and playing games? or would you rather just have chairs for everyone to sit at and eat on their laps/ plays games(writing answers though clipboards or any hard surfice)

I’ve only been to showers where everyone sat on chairs in a circle and ate with food on their laps. I think tables would be nice, but it wouldn’t create a very inclusive atmosphere and people might get left out or not be as involved.

All I’ve ever been to were ones with tables.. normally they had tablecovers and cute centerpieces with favors on the table.

I’ve been to both, both are fine but I prefered no tables. That shower felt very unwelcoming. Everyone was so seperated, you didn’t get to know anyone or talk to anyone who you hadn’t met before. Also, maybe it was just that particular shower, but she just came in, opened her presents, and left… Left me wondering why I drove 6.5 hours to attend this shower, I could’ve just mailed her a gift!

also does it matter what food is being served–
italian food is being served- so meat balls and marina,chicken alfredo flat bread, gelatos, fruit salad, antipasta,bruchetta with oils,pesto salad– would you want a table to sit at and eat or not..

@asianyoushi: Definitely tables for Italian food. Nobody wants to get marinara or dipping oil on their dress!

thats what i am thinking– now to try to fit tables in the living room to hold 20 plus people…. lol

All the showers I have ever been to were sit down at tables to eat, and then circle around the bride for opening gifts. I’ve never been to one where people played games so I have no imput on that.

@CaroBee: i dont have enough space to do both unless everyone moves their chairs to another part of the home… not sure how i feel about that.lol.. if weather would be warmer and nicer we could use the outside but for a febuaray shower im thinking it will be too cold. i really hope i can move my couch,love seat through the door frame of the dinning room…
