My mom has been a hobby baker for as long as I can remember. Since we started wedding planning and has been really excited about doing my wedding cake. We're doing cupcakes and a small cake for cutting. Here's the inspiration picture for the cake.
And here is what we came up with last night for the cupcakes:

Of course it's a mock up, and it'll be a bit technically better and two layers like the inspiration, but I love it. It's exactly what we wanted.
I should mention, it looks like a crap ton of incing on there but it's actually not.
It'll be special to have a mom-baked cake at my wedding! I can't wait!

Pretty! Your mum did an amazing job! I am also having that rose cake by the way hehehehe but has to be made by the venue (they have a cake cutting fee so it costs more to make it at home:( )

i love it. this is exactly how i want my cupcakes done as well and now i think i will considering this for my cake too. it's so beautiful and really quite easy to do....and i love buttercream icing.
