I did it for about a week straight and started seeing results. I felt like 20 minutes wasn’t enough, so I’ve upped my workouts at the gym. But good for you! (Don’t you hate those side lunges with the arm raises?? Ugh. The worst!)

Ugh I HATE the side lunge/arm raises!  They’re getting easier, but I still hate ’em…

@marigold- the hard work does pay off.  Just make sure you are eating a healthy, balanced diet and you will start seeing results.

I think I hate every exercise in the video except for the cool down

It does get slightly (ever so slightly) easier. The part in Level 1 where she says something like, "I bet if you’re on day 5 or 6, I bet you’re seeing a huge difference" I laughed at on day 4. I thought "yeah right!!" but on day 6 or 7 I actually did notice that I was doing a lot better, especially since Day 1.

I have had some health issues lately so I’ve only managed to do about 3 maybe 4 workouts a week and I’m on Level 3. I still have a ways to go but I notice a difference. I actually have some upper arm muscles for probably the first time in my life and I can do push ups really well now!

Today will be day three for me, but my neck is killer right now. I don’t even know if I"m going to do it today because of that. I think it’ll be worth it, so just keep at it. I’ve been trying to find before/after pictures but can’t, so I’m going to keep looking. But nearly every review for it says it’s amazing!

eek! I am starting this next week! It sounds like it’s going to be hard work! But I am glad to hear you are seeing/feeling results!

I must learn what this Shred business is all about. It sounds like a good alternative to going to the gym when I’m feeling lazy!

I’ve done this off and on since I bought the DVD late last year.  I play sports quite a bit so I’ve never been able to do the DVD every day.  I have been doing it the past week and my roommate keeps telling me I look like I’ve lost weight.  I haven’t by the scale but we all know that muscle weighs more than fat.  I love the idea that it’s just 20 minutes.  When I come home from work and have no energy, it’s easier to force myself to do this rather than some of my hour long kickboxing and other DVDs.  I am so excited to hear that everyone else hates the side lunge with arm lift.  That one drives me nuts and I couldn’t figure out if I was just a pansy or if it’s truly difficult.  Thank you for the validation!

While we’re on the topic of exercise, does anyone know a good yoga DVD?  I’m looking for something that increases strength and maybe destresses me a touch.

ejs – there are a lot of threads on this but to sum it up, this is the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred DVD.  There are three levels, each 20 minutes.  She does circuits of 3 minutes strength training, 2 minutes of cardio, and 1 minute of abs.

Thanks marigold.  I went to Target and bought Rodney Yee’s Beginner Yoga because I couldn’t find the one you recommended.  For some reason I was drawn to it having a morning and evening workout.  I also bougth Jillian Michael’s No More trouble Zones.  Beware of this one!  It’s all strength circuits for 40 minutes and it HURTS!  There aren’t really any modified positions to make it easier.  It’s aimed at the arms, muffin tops and saddle bags which are all where I need help.  I hope I’m not too sore tomorrow.

i did 20 days straight before i fell off the wagon.  10 days each of level one and two.  it was super rough at first.  but about 4-5 days into it i could see a big difference.  my abs were sore everyday but i definitely got stronger.

Since my JM Banish fat, boost metabolism dvd broke my new favorite thing to do is Shred levels 3-2-1 for 60 min of circuits.  But, I’m a crazy person so…

Funny that you mention those side lunges-that IS ridiculous towards the end!! ๐Ÿ™‚  I tried that workout once and am doing the gym instead, but I actually do those side lunges with the arm raises at the gym sometimes ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s any arm things that get me. Lunges, jumping, kicking, those don’t bug me. It’s the weights, push-ups and planks that drive me crazy. I already knew I had crappy upper body stregth. this just confirms it.

Tomorrow will be day four for me, and I’m not noticing being any stronger, and what was hard in the begining is still hard. We’ll see how it is once I get to the end though.

Is anyone else skipping weekends on this? It’s easier for me because I work weekends, and it’s an 8-5 shift both days and once per week, so it’s too crazy to do it after work as well.
