    Hi!  I'm a Round Hill bride and am booking rooms at the Marriott in Middletown.  It's about a 20 minute drive from the venue, and I'd like to provide shuttle buses for guests staying at the hotel.  Anyone know of any reasonable shuttle bus/charter bus companies in Middletown or nearby in Hudson Valley?

    Thanks!

    I work with a lot of brides seeking shuttles to transport their guests from hotels to ceremony/reception sites in the hudson valley and then returning to pick them up at the end of the night.  I've worked with bestbus.net and Leprechaun Lines with success.  I'm only mentioning these couple of companies in general not as endorsements or a referral as you should definitely do your research and select companies based on multiple reviews.

    We also have coordinators at the hotels to work with the bus companies to make sure guests/bridal party/families board the busses and arrive in time for pictures/ceremony start.  At the end of the night, we are onsite to escort guests back onto busses and load up any personal belongings that need to go back to the hotels with the bride/groom/bridal party.  I always get the cell numbers for the drivers the day before the event to ensure we are in contact throughout.  Hope they can assist you! And good luck with the wedding at Round Hill, wonderful place and great food!

    @Jaxx317:  Hi Jaxx,  I'm also getting married at the Round Hill on April 29, 2011.  (Just found Buttercookie on here as well - getting married there the night before her!).  Pls keep me posted if you find any decent shuttle/party bus options.  Happy planning!

    BelleBride2Be - how awesome!

    Did you ladies pick out your menu yet?  Where are you going for hair/makeup? I'm still looking for all this stuff... and flowers too! Gah! So much to do!

    @Belle - I got a few quotes, and depending on which way you go, it could be really expensive. Leprechaun Lines seems to be the least expensive and they've gotten relatively good reviews. The next best cost-wise seems to be Best Bus Charter Corp or Coach USA.

    @ Buttercookie (and other RH ladies) - I was told menu choices don't typical happen until about 4-6 weeks before your wedding, although I think we have already made our preliminary choices even without tasting any of it! For me, cake will be the hardest part (I just love cake so much, and Pastry Garden's is so freakin' good!!). Not sure about hair & makeup at the moment. I may end up "importing" someone from the city depending on how much he charges - he's my mom's current colorist and works at a salon I used to go to so I trust him with my hair already. We just started "interviewing" florists, which has so far (besides dress & venue) been one of the more exciting and fun things to do! We're waiting on some estimates but will probably book someone soon. We met David from Flowers by David Anthony, who is super nice, creative and has great ideas (and, to my surprise) was totally reasonable for being on several venues' preferred vendor list! Also checking out some smaller shops (Flowers on the Porch and Elegant Accents). My big thing to tick off my list in the next week or so is getting hotel room blocks! I'm so torn as to where to put people: Newburgh/Airport area or Middletown? Have you guys picked hotels yet, and if so which ones?

    Hi Ladies,

    I'm curious - what kind of quotes were you getting?  I'm including transportation on my budget and I think I only estimated $500.  What's a reasonable estimate?

    Many thanks!

    @ Miss Holly - It depends on what you are looking for (guest transport or bride & bridal party transport). Our bridal party is small, and the ladies will be getting ready on site, so at the moment we're not planning for any transport for ourselves. Might consider a nice car to bring the boys and shuttle us around for a few photo ops nearby prior to the wedding ceremony though. For guest transport, I've been getting anywhere from ~$775 - $1300 for one 55 passenger bus, to basically do pick up and drop off, and slightly less for a smaller (35-40 pass.) shuttle bus. And that is from Middletown to the venue (Washingtonville).

    I haven't started looking into transportation yet, but one of the hotels we're working with recommended a couple.  Not sure if this is helpful but--Golden Carriage Limo, West Point Tours, and A.N.N. Transportation.

    Thanks Violet! I'll look into those.  So far, the cheapest we've seen is around 700 and that was with West Point.

    @buttercookie:

    Hi Ladies!  Yes, we just chose our menu last week - so exciting! The reason we chose this far out was bc we need to put the entree choices on the invitations in order to provide the Round Hill with the advance count, and we are ordering invitations next month.  Will def be going back in January for the bridal day tasting to make any last minute tweaks to the cocktail stations.

    I did book my hair & makeup actually.  I was referred to Michelle LoConte from the Pink Comb Salon in NJ.  She is supposed to be amazing, and she travels to wherever you need her to on the morning of the wedding (in our case, my girls and I are getting ready at the Sheraton Hotel in Mahwah, NJ that day).  They were reasonable, and its a really nice, newly renovated hotel - about 25 mins from the venue.

    6 months from this wknd Buttercookie!

    Hi all -

    I am a Round Hill Bride as well! I was just goggling shuttle bus service near there and came upon this site and your blogs. What a great site to be able to share ideas and research!!

    Did any of you go ahead and book a shuttle service yet? My fiance and I were around that area today visiting the various hotels and are either going to go with the Hampton Inn or Marriot Courtyard. We had tried the Holiday Inn Express that was also listed on the vendor list, but didn't like the place at all!

    As far as flowers, I'm going to see a small local shop in a couple of weeks - Flowers by Joan. Has anyone else tried there yet and have any reviews?

    Yay! excited to chat with other Round Hill Brides!

    @bizzyplanningmywedding:  Welcome to the thread!  My fiance and I are going up to check out the Marriott Courtyard too!

    We still haven't booked our transportation yet -- what a nightmare! All these places are quoting at least $700.  Seems kinda crazy for a bus right?

    Thanks Bizzy, for the hair/makeup tip.  I keep wavering between having it done and doing it myself.

    On another topic -- REHEARSAL DINNER?  Have any of you ladies booked a place yet?  We're hoping to scope out some restaurants this weekend, but we're going to have like 30-40 people at the dinner (our immediate families are kinda huge).

    Any thoughts?

    @Belle YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!  6 months!!!

    @Jaxx317:  I think we're going with the Marriott at Crystal Run because the rooms are cheaper!

    We're going with Steven Bruce Design for the flowers -- he was totally laid back and has been great to work with so far.  We're meeting with him this weekend to go over some ideas.

    @bellebride2be: round hill bride here too! approaching 8 months, but i don't think it's really gonna hit till the 6 month point :) i'm planning on attending bride's day in Jan too - maybe we'll see each other there!

    @buttercookie - haven't had much success finding anything for less than $700 either :( it totally sucks but we'll just find some way to finagle our budget so we can swing it! i'm planning on getting ready at round hill so we're not currently planning on getting transport for ourselves. i responded w/some suggestions for RD on another thread, so check that out!

    we're going with elegant accents out of Gardiner  for our florist. we liked flowers by david anthony but found him generally slow in communicating w/us and even though he was full of ideas, he came in about $400+ dollars over elegant accents and offered less (e.g. his estimate didn't even include any decor for cocktail hour).

    we're definitely going w/the hampton inn, and hopefully the courtyard marriott (if they ever call me back) in middletown, mainly because they are practically right next to each other and will be easy for shuttle pick-ups/drop-offs.

    keep the suggestions coming!
