Shuttle for rehearsal dinner?

posted 3 months ago in Beehive

My wedding will be a formal 175 person wedding in Hawaii - half of the guests will be from out of town, half will be local (my fiance and his family are from Hawaii).

We are getting shuttles/buses from the major hotel area to the church and then from the church to the reception site.

My question is - do you think we should also get a shuttle/bus for the rehearsal dinner?  Our rehearsal dinner will also be rather large (at least 125 ppl) and the price of everything is really adding up.

I'm going to be in Hawaii for a wedding a couple weeks, yay!  I think that it is great that you are making the ceremony and reception convenient for everyone with a shuttle, BUT I don't think that you should do it for the wedding rehearsal.

I went to a wedding in Idaho and they had shuttles from the hotel to the ceremony and reception, but we fended for ourselves for rehearsal dinner.

I agree with AprylHzle.  I think that inviting 125 attendees to your rehearsal dinner is a nice enough gesture.  After all, the wedding is the main event and what they are in town for.  Good Luck - your wedding will be beautiful!

We're in a similar situation. With 125 coming to your rehearsal, it will be tough for guests to get there without help. Although it may seem like it's an extra expenditure now, your guests will REALLY appreciate it. We actually considered having the in-town guests shuttle some out-of-towners to the rehearsal dinner, but Mr. Champagne is an attorney and brought up the insurance issue. If anything happens to your guests, it'll be on the driver instead of a shuttle service. Just a thought. Good luck! (I'm jealous of your hawaiian destination!)
