So I’m sick again. After my son was sick all of last weekend, I pumped out some crappy runs Mon and Tues. Thursday i had a fever and spent all of my time from Thursday night to Sunday at noon tossing in bed with a fever/chills/sweats. At urgent care they diagnosed me with strep throat and a possibly respiratory thing, that could be “nothing”. I go back this week.
I have a half marathon in less than 6 week! I have no idea how to get ready in time. My longest run to date was 6 miles. I’ve always been able to add mileage pretty liberally without getting injury, so I’m pretty sure that I could get up to a long run of 11 or 12 miles. My focus on the half is really to finish with a pace as close to 10 minute miles as I can.
Any advice from anying with training experience? Do I just keep on with my training plan as it is right now? Do I adjust everything? Assuming the respiratory thing is actually nothing, I’m hoping to run again Wed or Thur. Just an easy 3 miles to see how it goes.
