DS is 8 months old. Two weeks ago mil was sick and even said she souldn’t hold DS because she was sick. She then went on to hold him a bit later while I was in the bathroom. I grabbed him to nurse as soon as I came back. This weekend Father-In-Law is really sick. He had surgery to place 2 stents near his heart last week following aheart attack. Today Darling Husband was with DS while I got some more sleep, but was supposed to wake me up if he needed to leave. He went to pick up the hired guy for the farm and left DS with Father-In-Law. I know it can’t be easy to say no, but how is it okay for Darling Husband to leave DS with Father-In-Law who is sick and just had surgery while I was asleep upstairs. Darling Husband was gone at least 20 minutes and fil was lone with DS. I am mad, but mainly because DS has been sick for 2 months and it’s not fair to him to risk him getting sick again. Plus what would Father-In-Law do if he needed someone to take ds? he’s can’t get around well and can’t carry ds while walking, much less going uo the stairs. Darling Husband doesn’t seem to get it, at least not enough to have woken me to stay with ds while he was gone and minimize ds’s risk to getting yet another cold. Isn’t it enough thst we are here for 4 freaking days? I know ds is the light of fil’s eyes, but I dont’t want ds to get sick. And I’m super pissed that it seemed so sneaky. This is exactly why I dont trust my in laws with ds. we are here almost every weekend, but they still feel the need to be sneaky and out ds at risk of getting sick in the process. when my inlaws are not sick, i hand ds to them often.
am i over reacting? or do I have a right to be mad? when i tried to talk to dh about it, he was so emotional about his dad’s health that i ended up feeling like a bitch about it. like i always do. He’s MY kid. i just want him to be able to sleep when he needs to and to not get sick. why is that so bad? i’m a little protective, but i am much better than i used to be and i don’t think it’s so bad.
