We are doing BBQ too Smile Our sides are caeser salad, garden salad, fresh beans and coleslaw. If mac and cheese was an option, we would have that for sure!! Our main is steak and chicken breast – I am not a steak fan. I wish we could have pulled pork, that would be soooo good!

If you can only have two I would go with one warm side and one cold.  My faves are mac & cheese and potato salad.  If you feel that is too much starch switch out the potato salad for coleslaw.

Our rehearsal dinner was catered BBQ!

We had two salads as sides, cornbread, mac+cheese, and potato salad!

If you have to pick, 2 I would go with

    • green beans – because they’re green and people like to have a healthy option
    • mac and cheese – this can be filling if you have vegatarians and it is super yummy and does well in a buffet!

I’m a BBQ fanatic!  I would say baked beans are a MUST for bbq and I would do mac & cheese (warm).  Potato salad reminds me of every single summer bbq ever so I don’t think it’s that special.  Then add the salad for a veggie.

I love brisket and pulled pork but I would see if you can try both.  Sometimes one is better than the other at places.

I’m actually kind of sad I didn’t do BBQ for our wedding.  We had a more upscale BBQ place on our list of venue caterers and I really considered it (it would have been very Kansas City!) but decided not to because of the mess.  Wish I would have though!

@MichiganGirl24:  I would do Mac n cheese and coleslaw. It’s a pretty heavy meal so I almost want to say coleslaw and green beans butho can’t say no to Mac n cheese!

@MichiganGirl24:  I’d choose mac ‘n cheese and baked beans. I do LOVE potatoe salad but am very particular (I don’t like celerly in mine, it needs to be a mustard potatoe salad, etc.) so only because of that I didn’t choose it.

@MichiganGirl24:  We’re doing a BBQ too & having mac & cheese and baked beans as sides. Originally the package we got was for sides of  baked beans & coleslaw, but I hate, hate, hate coleslaw so I voted that off the menu pretty quickly. You don’t happen to be using Vonderhaar’s in Cincinnati, are you? I see that you’re in Ohio too.
