i get this from time to time too. i’m glad it’s not just me. i find that when i do get it is when i’m hungry and dont realize it. as soon as i eat, it tends to go away. i’m not sure if that has anything to do with it, but that’s what i’ve found. i haven’t asked the doctor yet or anything.

A few weeks ago I had that for many days in a row. I figured it was just the uterus stretching? It was on my right side, too. Haven’t had it lately, though. When do you see your OB next?

@roxy821:  definitely don’t take what i’m saying as correct! haha – that’s just what i’ve found. i have a doctors appointment next week and i plan on asking about it. it’s never severe enough for me to make a call in the non-office hours.

@roxy821:  Mine always happened in the afternoons after eating lunch and lasted a few hours. It felt like such a strong pulling feeling (stretching) and similar to a runner’s cramp as you mentioned. I noticed that if I shifted my position it would go away, though. Meaning I couldn’t sit normally. I had to sit hunched to a side. I’m sure if I had laid down (couldn’t, since I was at work) it would have gone away. Have you tried walking around or changing position? Does that help? Maybe put a call in to a nurse at your OB office?

I’ve had it once on either side. The first time I almost called the doctor it was so bad, then realized baby boy hadn’t moved in awhile and got him to move. He’s not really big enough to have been causing the pain, I don’t think, but it must have relieved some pressure or something, because it definitely got better. The second time it was on my right side and was so bad, I did call the doctor. I ended up speaking to a nurse’s nurse, who wanted to check in with the main nurse and call me back. In the five minutes that I waited for the call back, it went away…of course, after having lasted about 45 minutes. I mean, I’m glad it went away, but I know I seemed crazy. It felt like it was starting again yesterday, but never got worse and went away quickly.

ETA: Moving around/lying down/etc. didn’t seem to make any difference.

@meggyo:  She did call me back, and I told her it had gone away. She didn’t seem like she was that concerned before, but she did say that I could come in if I wanted. She said it was probably just ligament stretching, and unless there were other symptoms (spotting) or it got worse, she wasn’t very concerned.

Yeah, I get that once in awhile too.   Yesterday it was kinda bad and I was getting worried.  I took a walk and drank lots of water and it went away.  I hope I don’t get it today.

I really think in most cases it is just your uterus stretching. That is what it felt like to me when I had about a week of that pain each day. Oh the joys of pregnancy! 🙂

@roxy821:  I am not at all saying this to alarm you, and I’m sure you are totally fine, but I just wanted to say that my doctor indicated that I needed to call her immediately if at any time in my pregnancy I have right upper-quadrant pain, as this can be a symptom of pre-e. Like I said, I definitely don’t mean to alarm you, but I think this could be worth a call to your doctor’s office.
