lol.  I also think they have misunderstood.  I wrote an email once to my bridesmaid how I was going in for a hair trial and one responded that she would love to come get a hair trial.

I’ve stop trying to figure out my MOH/sister.  I mean, she’s my sister – so I already know her skills/limitations – but she’d been uber excited when we got engaged, totally backed off from any interest the first few months of planning (although, I blame our mom for that) then, when I asked her to make our card mailbox (from a free mailbox from CL) she was all stoked again!  It’s now been 6 weeks since she’s gotten the mailbox… and hasn’t started it yet!  WTF??  I sincerely thought that giving her a project was going to be a good start to including her in other projects (I had considered having her do the bathroom baskets, too) but she’s totally flaked on the mailbox, ugh.

Very nice of your other BM to go the extra mile for you!

((Not trying to sound nasty))  But I’m confused.  Why would you ask your BMs to do this?  Why not just go to your local Old Navy and buy 50 pairs (or however many you need) by yourself?   Did you ask them to go for more of a variety?  Because I always feel like Old Navy has about 500 pairs of flipflops!  Why make 6 people go to old navy to buy a few pairs if one person could go and buy them all?

Just trying to understand.  But this obviously frustrated you so I’m sorry!  I hate feeling disappointed by my friends.

My sister’s kids are in their 20s and out of the house.  I’ve actually been egging my youngest niece (20yo) to get her mom’s butt in gear with the mailbox!  She doesn’t really have a demanding job…  she’s actually got a ton of free time and has been enjoying her summer weekends with motorcycle rides and beach trips…  so I know she has the time.  She’s not really a creative-type, so I fear that’s part of the reason that she hasn’t jumped on the task – but initially, I hadn’t asked her to make the cardbox, just pick up the free mailbox from the CL poster, as it was in her neighborhood.  After she got it, she called me asking what my plan was for it and said she’d be happy to do it for me.  I’m sure she’ll get it done, she has a few more weeks, but it’s just a bit annoying, as I’m trying to include her in stuff then she flakes.  Meh.  She has been helpful with ideas, like wanting to throw a shower and asking about a bach party (both of which aren’t going to happen, shower-because I live 3000 miles away and just can’t seem to figure the logistics of it out and the bach party-because I’m not really a fan of them.)  I think I’m just frustrated cause she’s one extreme or the other with the whole wedding planning thing.  I don’t have have any BMs and my other MOH is my 14yo sister, who, aside from helping me with DIY projects the week before the wedding when I go home, I haven’t given any duties to – cause she’s so young.

Glad to hear that ON was so lax about their rules and allowed you to get all the flops you needed!
