Girls on a different board all think neither one suits my figure.  But I'm just not into the tight bodice, ballgown bottom-ed typical cupcake wedding dresses.  I want something simple and classic.  They think that strapless doesn't suit me.  Your thoughts?  I'm so confused and disheartened now. Frown

I think the first dress suits you better than the second.  The second seems kind of ill fitting and isn't really accentuating your figure the way it should.  Is it the right size?  I think strapless suits you fine, you just need a dress with the right silhouette.

I really like the second dress. I think it really shows your curves and is very flattering!

Firts dress fits better than the second.
Question is not whether or not people in forums think it fit, but more: are you in love with one of these dresses??? If you really love these two, I say go for the first; or if you're not sure, maybe look a little bit more before you choose?

Tulip, do you think it should be bigger?  It doesn't come bigger, another bummer.

I like the second one better, it defines your figure better, but in end who cares what anyone says, whatever one makes you feel the best and makes you happy wins!!!

egb - I don't even know what I like anymore.  I'm confused about everything and probably just need to sleep on it.  I'm getting ridiculously emotional about a freakin dress.  LOL

I don't think it should be bigger.  It looks like it either needs to be a smaller size, or altered in certain areas to get it to fit you better.  It's probably the latter.

The first one is BEAUTIFUL! You look gorgeous in both, but I vote for numero uno.

I like the second one better, but it looks like it might be a bit too big? I think if it fit better in the waist it would accentuate your curves very nicely!!! :) I don't have a problem with strapless on you at all, not sure what the other girls were seeing...

Oh my gosh those both look great, but I think the second one is the classic simple silhouette that you're looking for.  It looks so great.   The slight sweetheart line of it is very flattering on you.  Don't let those girls get you down, you look great!

What do you think of the dresses?  Which do you like best?

I think if you went with dress #2, it definitely needs to be altered so it fits closer to your body in the bodice & hips.

I prefer the second dress...the first seems to fit low at the top (on the sides)  Both are beautiful dresses and they both look great! (I just prefer the second)   :)  Before you listened to what people in forums said...which one did you like? YOU need to be comfortable in what you are wearing-what anyone else says doesn't matter!

I like the 2nd one better, I think it's more structured and so it's more flattering to your shape.  I don't really see what people are saying how it doesn't fit you??  Maybe it needs to be a little more snug?

@twocatcupcake: I completely understand... It took me several shopping trips and, no kidding, over 60 dresses before I chose mine - not because I loved it, but because it was "not as bad as the others"... NOTE: I actually love my dress, but at that point, I was in a state of mind where I was very emotional and confused about this.

Take a break for a little bit. Then go again. I did that, and it helped. I ended up trying my dress for a second time, then a third time. And each time I was more and more in love with it and convinced that I wanted that one.

This experience is not magical for everyone, don't bee too hard on yourself and take all the time you need before you choose. Everyone has a dress that makes them look and feel fabulous and you should not settle for less than that.

Wow! I don't know what the girls on the other site were thinking--but I love them both!!! I think the second looks like it probably needs some good alterations to make it a better fit, but it is very chic. The first one is so elegant----I think it really comes down to what your wedding ceremony/reception style is going to be? Are you more of a romatic/elegant(#1) or more chic/modern (#2)....

    Good luck!!

I keep looking at the pic of the second dress and trying to figure out what is bugging me.  Are you short waisted?  I think the placement of the belt is not good for your body type.  An empire waist like the first dress seems to suit you better.  I think if you could remove the belt on the second dress and get it fitted more in the hip area, it would make a huge difference.

I actually LOVE the second dress!

I think it is very classy and beautiful, I am suprised people chose number 1.  It is nice to, but NUMBER 2 seems much more special and original to me.

    NUMBER 2!

@ egb... YES!  That is totally how I'm feeling.  My mom and I chose the 1st dress based on it being 'ok' amongst them all.  I saw the 2nd online and really like it, but I'm not sure I like it on me.  I just feel totally overwhelmed and like I want to wear shorts and a tshirt to the ceremony.  LOL.  I think I'll def take a break and go back to them a bit later.  My first fitting isn't until June and the wedding isn't til Sept so I have some time.  THANK YOU!

The problem with the second dress is that it is too short!! Does it even hit the ground? Otherwise it is lovely (love the floral detail at the top)

At this point, I like how #1 looks on you. I like #2 better as a dress. Is it huge? It doesn't look like it fits you at all.

I LOVE the second one. It's so sophisticated and looks amazing on you

The first one reminds me of a terrycloth wrap I used to have. I thin kit is the wasitband...it just doesn't seem very sophisticated or bridal to me.

How tall are you? If you are height challenged, the first one might have too much skirt?

I like the second one so much that I might bring the photo to a bridal shop when I go on Saturday!

I like the second dress better, but it needs to be altered to fit more closely.

Even so, the most important opinion is YOURS.  Do NOT get married in a dress that you don't feel beautiful in.  If you don't really like either dress, can you keep looking?  I'd hate for you to end up with a dress that you don't love...or even like!

I totally get arm poses, but how comfortable do you feel with your arms down in the dress. That may help you rationalize which dress you like. (I like to pose with my arms up too, but realistically, you can't go all day like that).

Dress #1! But can you have it altered to be a sweetheart neckline? It would be gorgeous that way. Dress #2 doesn't do much for you, IMO

I think both dresses are very pretty!  I really love the sillhouette of the second one.  Those girls on the other board were crazy, you look great in strapless.

I find it difficult to respond really -- personally I like the first dress better and I think you look very lovely in it. But more important is : how do you feel wearing these dresses, is there one that you feel more comfi in? Since you write you are a little overwhelmed (oh how I recognize that feeling!! When I was shopping for my dress I felt like running out of the store several times ;))) maybe it would be a good idea to take a little time to ponder, maybe even try on some more dresses. You have enough time to look around some more and there's no need to rush. You need to find yourself a dress that you love AND feel comfortable in I think :-)
