FI and I are thinking of ways to keep costs from going nuts as we’re getting closer to the BIG DAY. One option were considering is offering two signature drinks rather than a full stocked bar. The venue already offers unlimited wine, sparkling wine and beer, but liquor needs to be provided to them by us.
Our colours are predominately purple and teal, with bits of pink/coral/orange thrown in.
We’re thinking that one drink will be a Fruit Tingle, but we’ll rename it. If you’re not familiar, it has Blue Curacao, vodka, raspberry cordial/grenadine and sprite, so it’s very sweet.
We’re trying to think of another drink. Here’s our criteria:
- Something a little less sweet to balance the other one
- Something not vodka based- possibly white rum?
- Something appropriate for summer
- Bonus points if it is, or can be made, purple or red/pink in colour.
Thank you Weddingbee brains trust! I know you can help!

@crookedframe: I have never seen a purple mixed drink! My favorite drink ends up looking red/pink. Malibu (or other rum for less sweetness), amoretto, orange juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine. Yum!

@crookedframe: How about these?
1 1/2 shot of Gin
1/2 shot of Blue Curacao
Cranberry juice, Sour mix, Soda water
1 oz coconut rum
1 oz triple sec
2 oz cranberry juice
½ oz blue curacao
Add ingredients to cocktail shaker filled with cracked ice. Pour through strainer into rocks glass. Garnish with a cherry and pineapple chunk on a skewer
1½ oz white rum
1½ oz raspberry liqueur
½ oz simple syrup
Large dash of lime juice or Rose’s lime juice
Add ingredients (except soda) to cocktail shaker filled with cracked ice. Pour through strainer into highball glass. Fill with club soda. Color will be dark purple. For a more “purple” purple, add a dash of blue curaçao. Garnish with a blackberry and raspberry.

Thank you! I especially like the sound of the raspberry mojito. Any other suggestions welcome 🙂

A tequila sunrise or something along the sunrise lines which is just orange juice and red cordial with your preferred spirit
