OOHHHHH so good. The truffles are AMAZING! I recently discovered mango vodka. I know, big whoop.
One of my faves is frangelico liquor, chambord, and cream. Mmmmm
I had Kir Royales at my wedding alongside the proper cocktails! They are lovely and were a bit more festive during the cocktail hour than ordinary wine.
Kir Royale is my fav! We actually renamed it for the bridal shower and called it raspberry rapture - I love champagne,(Im the buy a bottle to enjoy in the tub alone kind of girl) and yes, Im a drink in hand sort of girl, but anything with raspberry is amazing. Would love to try that Cassis drink.
I would serve them at the wedding but we are having signature cocktails (Guavatini and Gin based grrom pick) since some people usually dont drink the champagne ( which ticks me off at events)
Kir royales are my favorite - I'd go as far to say that is my personal signature drink!
I love Kir and Kir Royale! We were going to do Kir Royale at our wedding before we decided to elope; maybe we'll do it next year when we have a reception... mmm...

So, one of the things I love about my MIL is that she always has wine on hand. I never drank much white wine until meeting her. She introduced me to a classic French cocktail and I wanted to share. Maybe you're familiar with it, maybe not. It's called a Kir and there are variations you can make.
A kir is creme de cassis (blackcurrant liqueur) and white wine, usually Chardonnay. I've read recipes that vary the parts from 1-4 all the way to 1-9 (more wine).
You can use champagne, that's called a kir royale. It's a beautiful deep red color and because you add the liqueur, you don't need great wine. It's light and refreshing. This would make a great signature cocktail.
Has anyone heard of this? What new drinks have you found lately?
