I think we’re just going to make a boatload of sangria as ours. I don’t know what we’re going to call it. πŸ™‚ Probably just… sangria. lol

One of the cutest names for signature drinks that I’ve seen a few times was Love Potion Number [insert number here]. A few used the number 9, as original, and some added their wedding date as the number. I think that’s a fun idea.

We have three — sangria, gin & tonics and mojitos — but we’re not calling them anything special.  Is that boring?  πŸ™

Our drinks were just some of our favorites we wanted to share with our guests who might not be familiar with them. We had a local beer from where we live in Ohio, another beer from where we used to live in PA, a soda local to Kentucky where the wedding is, and my MIL’s favorite wine. Of course that was in addition to other choices as well. We didn’t have any creative names but people appreciated the thought we put into those choices.

I’m a fan of signature drinks, but not a fan of the silly names. I like to know what’s in the drink! πŸ™‚ We’re probably going to have a margarita bar before the ceremony{which is on the beach} but we’re just calling it margaritas.

We had a limited cocktail menu in addition to wine and beer. The biggest hit of the evening were Gin or Vodka Rickeys. Rickeys are old-school cocktails made with lime juice, simple syrup, a splash of bitters and either gin or vodka, finished with soda water. Very tasty and refreshing. We had several other cocktail options but most people were drinking Gin Rickeys. πŸ™‚

No special names here, just good drinks!

OMG I love the idea of Love Potion #10! We’re getting married on 10-10-10 so I think it works! Mr. Arboretum thinks it works too!

I’ve seen a couple pictures floating around of a drink menu that has the drinks “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue” and finding drinks to match those descriptions.  I thought that was cute.

We’re planning on doing signature drinks, but we don’t have ideas or names yet!  Hopefully I’ll get some ideas from this thread.

@ fiftyfootbride: White.  I blogged about it — and included a recipe!

We had a signature drink! Our colors included pink and our theme was 1930’s so we picked a 1930’s cocktail called the Pink Lady. We changed the name to Pink Peacock though since peacocks were our motif. It was delish!

I’d love to do ‘strip and go naked’ as one of our sig. drinks. Another drink I had which was absolutely fabulous was called ‘red shit’. I have no idea what’s in ‘red shit’ but all i know it was fabulous! And there was no tomato juice in it.

We are having a Mardi Gras themed reception, and the signature drink will be the hurricane.  I never thought about giving it another name, but that may not be a bad idea!
