We’re having 3, but have only decided on 2 (his choice and my choice) so far. We’re thinking the 3rd will be specially made for us by a mixologist friend of ours, who specializes in pre prohibition cocktails.

My choice:

Corpse Reviver #2- gin, Cointreau, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice, absinthe with a Luxardo maraschino cherry in the bottom.

His choice:

Blood and Sand- scotch whiskey, vermouth, Cherry Heering, orange juice

We’re having a HIS, a HERS, and a Love Connection. But they aren’t fancy: his drink is a Rum & Coke, mine is a Gin & Tonic, and our relationship got personal when he got drunk on Seven & 7’s, and I had to take care of him puking, we went out for he first time, just the two of us the next night. 🙂

i had planned on having an open bar but after having a good think about it i changed my tune.  there aren’t many of our friends and family who would drink anything other than beer or wine.  at my birthday party(when Fiance suprised me with a proposal) i had made my own concoction of drunky punch that everyone raved about.  i found a huge glass punch bowl at good will for 5 bucks and served it in that.  our venue is an outdoor garden ceremony and reception so i feel this is fitting.

grapefruit soda, cranberry juice, coconut rum, citrus vodka and assorted frozen fruits.

We’re getting a keg of a local microbrewery’s Oktoberfest as our signature drink. I didn’t really think about it as such until I realized it’s the drink that is making our open bar more unique!

We’re doing Moscow Mules; it’s a drink that my friends and I have been drinking for the last few years.  http://www.esquire.com/drinks/moscow-mule-drink-recipe

I really like the idea mentioned above of getting a local brewery’s Oktoberfest keg for a fall wedding too 🙂

We had pomosas – champagne and pomegranate juice. They were yummy.

We did “his” & “hers”, too. “His” was an old fashioned because he loves good rye whiskey & all things “old” (think Sinatra). “Hers” was a French Martini because I was a French major in college & love all things French & girly.
