My venue is letting us do a signature cocktail, but we can’t serve any hard alcohol at the reception venue. One suggestion we had was a Sake-tini. (Sake, lime, and cranberry)…it’s pretty good, not my fave, but I’m also worried that since it’s pink…guys aren’t going to touch it with a 10 foot pole.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Seen any signature drinks you really liked?
Thanks Bees 🙂

There’s a lot of things you can do with sparkling wines – I’d go that direction. Sangria, spritzers (wine with club soda), you name it. Don’t do something YOU don’t like. But yeah I’d avoid pink drinks too, if you can. Sub the cranberry for pineapple juice or just lime juice and you’re good to go.
Here’s a bunch of wine cocktails (a lot of hard booze but many don’t)

Sake is a good option for a stronger non-liquor drink. Our (hopeful) venue doesn’t allow hard liquor either, and we are thinking about doing two types of sangria, red and white. One will definitely be lychee sangria, and one more traditional, but we haven’t decided which is which yet 🙂
I don’t know about the guys and the pink drinks – a lot of my guy friends don’t GAF what color drinks are, they just want to get drunk lol. But I’m sure it varies with the crowd.

I think that with an Aug wedding that a Sangria is a good choice!

Thanks for the tips ladies!!
@KristenGettingMarried that link is a huge help! I think I might try one of the champagne drinks 🙂

as for your mention of pink drinks: I have tons of guy friends whom I think are fairly enlightened, and I’m pretty sure none of them would carry around a pink drink.

Depends on the guys. I know several who love the taste of ‘girly’ drinks and who’d be all over it if they thought it sounded tasty.

My guy friends drink bellinis more often than I do, and those things are pretty darn girly-looking.
