We’ve decided to have two signature drinks (in addition to an open wine, beer and champagne bar–not a full bar). He likes whiskey/bourbon, I like vodka. His fam is from MA and mine is from KY. We wanted to have two drinks to represent us both and our backgrounds. Here is what we’ve come up with so far…
The Cape Codder (vodka, cranberry, lime juice, seltzer)
Some kind of take on a Mint Julep (whiskey, fresh mint, gingerale, lemon?)
So, these two drinks cover our liquor preferences and our heritages, but we want to come up with cuter names? The Blushing Bride? The Groom Julep? Help! Our names are Abbie and Devin if that helps at all. Thanks for any help you can offer!

@MissCallieJean: I actually LOVE that idea. He is a major Sox fan, and that would be good for the Cape Codder…the only thing is I think I’d like to make it sound wedding-y or incorporate our own names somehow. I am stumped!

What about “Church Downs” or something similar for the Mint Julep? Mint Julep is served at Churchhill Downs during the Kentucky Derby 😉

I read this quote earlier 🙂
“Tough girls come from New York. Sweet girls, they’re from Georgia. But us Kentucky girls, we have fire and ice in our blood. We can ride horses, be a debutante, throw left hooks, and drink with the boys, all the while making sweet tea, darlin’. And if we have an opinion, you know you’re gonna hear it.”
