- Wedding: August 2012 - W Hotel Silicon Valley
We are having a cash bar at our wedding, but I decided to do signature drinks anyway since the venue said they would do them at a discounted rate and it’s an excuse to make another cute sign! I am doing “Something Old, New, Borrowed, & Blue” but am stuck on “Something Old” and need to find a cute name for “Something Blue!” Help?
Something Old: thinking of keeping it simple for this one, perhaps something that could be considered kind of manly? I am thinking maybe Jack & Coke? Manhattan? Any other ideas and/or cute names?
Something New: Blushing Bride (champagne, peach schnapps, & grenadine)
Something Borrowed: Mint to Be Mojito (standard mojito with a cute name!)
Something Blue: Blue Lagoon (vodka, lemonade & blue curacao) but I want a cute name!! Any help/ideas, Bees??

Hmm………maybe a martini since it is a “classic drink as well”. Not good with names though:/ I like the mojito!

Coming up with drink names can be so tough! Im having the same issue. Were thinking about doing a Gimlet Martini, (Gin with fresh squeeze lime juice)pretty clasic, and calling it The Grinning Groom…unless anyone has any better suggestions! 🙂

For the “old” drink, what about an Old Fashioned (whiskey, sugar, bitters, and a citrus garnish)?
For the blue drink, you could call it a “Lover be True” from the saying, “marry in blue, lover be true”?

@alliefly: I was also going to say “Old-Fashioned” for the something old. It’s perfect b/c it has the word “Old” on it, and it’s also a very classic, manly drink (although it’s one of my personal faves!)

Something Blue- True Blue

@AshleyR83: Yes! I think I remember Don Draper in Mad Men ordering it at least a couple of times throughout the series…if that’s not manly, I don’t know what is 😉
