Does anyone plan to (or did you) have signature drinks at your wedding?

I've been thinking about having them but we're having a strawberry themed wedding and there aren't many strawberry drinks to choose from.  Although I just found a recipe for strawberry mojitos that sounds really tasty.

We'd probably be supplying the alcohol for our reception and I'm wondering if it's worth the expense of buying all the extra specialized alcohol?  I love the idea of signature drinks but do people enjoy them?

We are planning on signature drinks.  I think people like the signature drink if the signature drink it good and something like what they would normally drink.

What about a strawberry bellini?  Made with champagne...I think it'd be a perfect wedding drink!

I like the idea of having a signature drink, so if you could pick one to do I think it would be a great idea!  A strawberry mojito sounds really good!  It might not be worth it to buy the special liquor if you are going to have several versions of a signature drink...(for example offering a strawberry mojito, strawberry bellini AND a strawberry margerita).  There's a risk that a lot of the alcohol and mixers could be wasted.

Hi!! I had one and it was a huge hit with my crowd. People loved it and I think it was a nice touch that everyone remembers. I did it during the cocktail hour - which I MISSED lol ... didn't get to see them =(  Mine was Raspberry Vodka with cranberry juice and pink sugar on the rim of the glass! It was actually really mild and tasty and is my favorite cocktail.

We are doing strawberry martinis as our signature drink. We chose it because I am incorporating as much red as possible and they are super delish. I offered to make them for a friends party and everyone ended up drinking them.

Mmm, could I have the recipe ArizonaBride? Those sound sooo great. I love fruity drinks ... and now I am missing the ones on my honeymoon!

I have to look up the recipe. I know I muddled fresh strawberries with a little bit of simple syrup and a squeeze of lemon juice and then put it in a cocktail shaker with a little more simple syrup and vodka. I sugared the rim of the glass. If I can find my exact recipe, I'll come back and post it here. Be warned, they are VERY good. That party I made them at got a little crazy:P

ETA: Well, I couldn't find my exact recipe, but this is close.

I didn't use the frais de bois and I used a squeeze of lemon juice.

Our signature cocktails were SOOOOOO popular. We spent a couple hundred more (versus just lots of beer and wine, let's face it a keg is $100 and has 100 servings in it). We had black raspberry peach martinis and blueberry passion fruit fizzes and they were incredibly popular. Everyoine was in a good mood and drinking and being festive so it was totally worth the small cost amount. We had 115 people at our wedding and our total booze cost was maybe around $700....maybe.
