I’ll be thinking about this too.

I’d like to something very summery, with either berries, watermelon, or mint.

What about this? Blackberry Gin Fizz – I even like the presentation. It would totally work in my garden wedding.

I also like the Grapefruit and Mint Mojito

Lemonade + muddled Basil + Vodka

I had this at a bar the night FH and I got engaged, and I make it all the time now. It’s so, so delicious. And easy!

TO @CaliBeeBride0813:  tell us more about your Wedding… indoors / outdoors, vision, theme, colours etc.  All we know right now from this post is that it is in August.

Having something to go on will give us more inspiration.

As for Whiskey as your dark… Are there a lot of Whiskey Drinkers in your circle of Friends & Family ?

Whiskey wouldn’t be my first choice… cause I don’t find that liquor very popular compared to some others.

@This Time Round:  Yeah – I kind of agree on steering clear of whiskey based cocktails. I’d do a sweeter drink with fruit and maybe a more herbacious drink with mint or citrus.

If someone wants whiskey, they can drink it straight up. lol

I’m going to do a cocktail with vodka, watermelon liquor, cranberry juice & lemonade with a slice of lemon.. It tastes awesome and summery, & just like watermelon chupa chups- yum!

TO @CaliBeeBride0813:  if it was me…

(Lol and for the record, I am married to a man who is wants to be a Sommelier / Mixologist when he retires)

My choices would be for …

Vodka… Nice white, light… and can be mixed with everything under the sun

And a Dark Rum… dark, smooth and exotic.

Vodka based cocktails are easy… the choice is limitless… definitely could go the “girly” side of things here… or a traditional Martini… or just on ice if someone is looking for something more “manly”

Dark Rum based cocktails can be everything from Fruity… to Mysterious… both with their Caribbean / Hot Weather feel

Here are some links for inspiration (I just GOOGLED – Dark Rum Cocktails)

Hope this helps,

A mojito or mint julep would be super yummy and refreshing in August!  If we do signature drinks, we’ll probably do something along those lines.  Or cold sangria?  Mmm.

Mine is called a “ginger rose”, it’s Alchemia Ginger InfusedVodka, StGermain, Fresh Lime Juice

It tastes kinda like a margarita but a little fresher and with vodka instead of tequila

@lolot:  I second the Mojito- that was almost our signature drink, but we figured it might be more complicated to turn out in mass quantities

We did a pomegranate margarita and a pisco sour (the national drink of Chile).

@JazzJune:  Those both sound so good!
