We are doing signature drinks! His is a 7&7 (Seagram’s 7 and SevenUp, although we might technically use another whiskey) and we are calling it the “Golden Groom” because it is a bit golden in color!

Mine is the “Starry-Eyed Bride”, a blue margarita on the rocks! A margarita is my second favorite drink. My first favorite is an Irish Car Bomb… NOT a good idea for the signature drink at a wedding hahaha. But I love Margarita’s.

Our theme is Van Gogh’s Starry Night so the colors and the names even go!

I honestly have no clue what size sign we will have, but I think it will be pretty small.

We did one signature drink and it didnt have a special name. It was just a spiked Arnold Palmer (Sweet Tea Vodka and Lemonade) served in mason jars.

we are having a pre-ceremony “signature drink” – there will be limeade for those who don’t imbibe, but for those who do there will be basil and lemongrass infused cachaca to add to the limeade, garnished with lime and basil.

for our post-ceremony “signature drink,” my fiance has been barrel aging manhattans for the last 5 months or so, and they will be poured directly out of the oak barrel’s spigot 🙂

I think yours sound OK.  Whiskey on the rocks is pretty potent for most people though (says the girl whose signature drink is manhattans…  😉   I’ve never had vodka with coke before, but if it’s tasty I’d be willing to try it!  I think as long as you have other drink options (beer, wine, liquor, or whatever) you’ll be fine!

Also, I don’t think the sign size matters, as long as it’s legible.  Just depends on where it’s going to go and what will fit.

FI and I just talked about this the other night!  We are having one signature drink.  It’s called Purple Rain, (vodka, blue curacao and cranberry juice).  I’m super excited about it because purple is my favorite color and it matches our wedding colors and FI is a huge Prince fan so it represents us both.  We haven’t talked about signs yet.  Still tossing around ideas on that one.

we had a special drink over cocktail hour but did not give it a special name.  it was asti and hibiscus.  you put the edible flower bud in the champagne flute and when you pour the champagne the bubbles makes the petals open up.  it also turned the drink dark pink and sweeter so it was perfect.  they were delicious.

most people have never heard of it so here is a pic.

@subola:  We’re doing “The Perfect Pair” which is a pear martini. We need to come up with an N/A drink too.

No signs for us as they will be passed by the wait staff.

@mypinkshoes:  do most people eat the flowers or is it just mainly for decoration purposes

No name yet, but vanilla coke and jack Daniels. Ahh so yummy! We are also having jack Daniel cupcakes made for the dessert table.

We’re not doing a signature drink, per se, but we are dead set on having a specific cocktail available to all guests (many of whom will be unfamiliar with it). We’re not doing signs, just having the wait staff pass them at the cocktail hour.

Our drink is a Pisco Sour. It’s basically the national cocktail of Peru and Chile (the home countries of FI’s parents) and it’s extremely potent, so we’ll be serving it in champagne flutes. It is 3 parts pisco (booze), 1 part lemon juice, ice, and sugar to taste.

We are, it’s the Rum Swizzle, which is like the national drink of Bermuda.  It’s delicious and tastes more like fruit juice than and alcoholic drink.  We’re doing signs on the bar but I’m not sure  what size yet.  The drink is one of our favorites so we wanted to share it with everyone.
