We need help coming up with a signature cocktail name (and essentially the ingredients!)
Here are somethings about us/things we like that might help.
Our wedding is in Atlantic City, NJ.
We are from Philly.
We love sports! Phillies, Eagles, Flyers etc.
Our cat is named after Tug McGraw (baseball fans will know)
I think we want it to either have a beach/boardwalk theme name or a Philly sports theme name.
Please help us with ideas!! Thanks in advance!

Well, need help on the type. Something like a martini, a whiskey drink, a vodka drink, etc? What base do you like or what feel are you going for- I hate to use the term “girly drink”, old fashioned type drink, margarita type?

Name: The Soaring Eagle
Ingredients: Blue curacao, lemonade, and fresh lemon juice? It would look blue like the sky (because that’s where the eagle would be soaring?).
Ummm… bear with me, I’ve never done this before!
Name: The High Flyer (the Flyers reference)
Ingredients: Basically a champagne cocktail? Champagne and peach puree, or blackcurrant syrup?
Name: The TugTug
Ingredients: Something beachy, like a tequlia sunrise? Orange juice, tequila, grenadine syrup.

I feel like if I find a name that I like, it will help dictate the type of drink?

@pisces315: Love the idea! We had a signature drink too: Jalapeno margarits, secretly we dibbed them the “mixed marriage” and our friends knew that but we didn’t publicly call them that bc people tend to get their panties in a bunch, though looking back on it, I think our guests would have been cool… Anyway, I’m Mexican, he’s not. I love spicy food, he loves margaritas! —And we first had that drink at a restaruant where they let us do MYOB (mix) after they lost their liquor license, you could bring in stuff so we brought tequila and had the best drink of my life! Halfway through the bottle of tequila (3 drinks each…) my now-husband, then bf got down on one knee and pretended to propose! It was hilarious! I knew he wasnt serious and was sooo embarassed! haha! The restaurant is where we had our 2nd date 🙂
Do you guys have any elements like this that you could use to creat your own drink? We used that drink as inspiration but our caterers made a new mix just for us. Just looked at your threads and see you had a NYE engagement, would you want to use that as inspiration? I see a few things in there you could play with. What was the name of the play you saw? How/where did you meet? You could use this to really make the drink about you!

@HourThyme: You did your homework! I thought about doing some sort of champagne cocktail because we got engaged on NYE, but the venue is having champagne, white and red wine throughout the cocktail hour anyways. The play we saw was “My mothers Italian, my fathers Jewish, and I’m in therapy” I’m jewish, he is Italian, so it was fun mix of our backrounds. Idk if you could make a drink about that?
I don’t want the drink to be too much of an “inside joke” I want everyone to see the name and kinda get it.
We both love all things sports.
We love the beach.
We love the Jersey Shore (NOT THE TV SHOW, the actual damn place haha)
I was thinking about maybe just something generic like “Boardwalk Belinis” but then I’m like oh that’s boring.
