No!! why pay attention to a little bird that just happened to die there??
I think it's fine. Birds get into apartments sometimes. I wouldn't think anything of it.
Sorry, I think my suggestion may have been morbid. I would just try not to think about it.
I'm not creeped out at all but then again I have a fear of driving over bridges...I know weird. I kind of like the RIP Birdie idea actually.
No way they are adorable! The bird was an accident, it's happened to me...only with a bat bleh!
Everything dies at some point, right? Keep everything as is, and tell this as a funny story in the future :)
I guess I could put a disclaimer on things... "Only one bird was harmed in the production of this marriage".
@VikingPrincess: I have a fear of bridges too! When I was little, I would cry and cry....now I just drive as fast as I can over them!
I would totally be with you on the bird and my FI would make fun of me forever if I had him come in and take care of it - but he would do it anyway! I think your invites are beautiful and unique and you shouldn't feel like you have to change a thing! When I was reading your post I thought you were going to say the window was left open and they got rained on or something - now THAT is bad luck!
I love the disclaimer- it's so cute! I am afraid of paper (cuts) so you can imagine how fun making our invites was for me. -(Its ok- go ahead and make fun of me- FI does all the time!) haha
You're invites are adorable!
You could put something on your program at the bottom that says "in loving memory of the bird" (meaning that particular bird-however you want to phrase it).
Perhaps the bird was sick and saw your warm craft room and thought it looked like a peaceful place to take it's final breaths, surrounded by happy centerpiece and invitation birds. Unlike many wild birds, it did not die alone, or spend it's last moments on the cold pavement.
Now you could take it as a sign that you should have a screen on that window when it's open. ;-)
First of all... your invites are ADORABLE... don't change a thing.
Second of all... I'm afraid of birds too! I am even more afraid of dead ones (and never can seem to explain WHY)... so I'm glad to hear that someone else feels the same. :)
Lol, I love hearing what everyone else is afraid of! Makes me feel a little less crazy - but I'm still superstitious as all get out! hehehe And yes, I fixed the screen on the window today :)
Sh** happens!
Don't believe in Omens but I do believe in a budget and I think it would be a waste of paper and money to do your invites over again!
I think your theme, cake topper and invitations are adorable! Don't change it. :) I think it is funny too that you are afraid of birds but portrayed yourself to be a cute little pink birdie on your cake topper...teehee!
I am afraid of butterflies. I hate them and I think they are ugly. But there is a new Monique Lhuillier dress with butterflies on the skirt that I love.
I think that poor bird just wanted to be a part of all the birdy goodness going on in your wedding room, but he forgot it was hard to fly indoors. I'm sure he died singing a song about loving your wedding decor....
OMG those invites are the cutest things I have ever seen! don't change a thing, that poor bird just so all of your cute wedding things in there and wanted to join in the fun!
Maybe if 2 birds had flown in and died together I'd be all... uhh? NOT NORMAL.
But birds die. Birds get into apartments. Birds can die in apartments.

Ok, so I worked really, really hard on my DIY invites. Everything has this cute little pair of love birds and the FI and I were totally in love with them.
Well, on Tuesday, I opened the window to my craft room to let some air in. This is the room where all the wedding stuff is, the centerpieces, everything! So I go back in later on, and over in the corner of the room is a bird. A dead bird. He (or she) flew in thru the window, hit the wall, and died. I was creeped out because, ironically, I'm actually afraid of birds - especially dead ones inside my house!! (I had to call him home from work to come clean it up)
My FI is not superstitious, and thinks I'm crazy for wanting to change everything. I say if I don't change it, were doomed.
So, what do you think? Weird, unfortunate coincidence? Or creepy, really bad sign and I should spend the entire weekend re-doing my wedding invites?
