I am looking at some of the same dresses for my early October, Florida wedding- ie could be hot and humid or chilly. One of my BM questioned the silk vs sweat factor. I am thinking of the espresso color so I don't think it will matter. But I am also wondering about these dresses. They do say they are "fully lined", I don't know if that will help.
Hi, if you haven't been to this website yet, they have really nice cotton dresses that are great for summer. We did the navy seersucker empire waist dresses in June at the beach and they weren't super hot. http://bridal.threaddesign.com/collections/pages/c63.php
They were a bit more expensive than the jcrew ones.
I have a dress in this material. I wore it in winter time, but I do have to say that the material didn't feel too heavy and it felt as though it breathed very well. Plus, as a girl with curves, I have to say that the material was very flattering on me and I was very comfortable in it all night/
So we decided to go with the J Crew sophia short dress that is made out of the silk tricotine fabric. It is really a nice fabric, with a slight sheen, and good weight. It really doesn't seem to be too heavy, but we are only having our ceremony outside so hopefully heat won't be too much of a factor. Good luck with your dress hunting!

Hello all,
I am trying to pick out dresses for my bridesmaids for a July wedding that will likely be unfortunately very hot and humid (it's also been an adventure trying to find dresses that will flatter four different skin tones and body types, especially since two of the girls are a wee bit picky and shoot down everything I suggest, but that's a whole other thing!). I really like the J.Crew dresses, and the girls seem to like the ones that come in silk tricotine. Does anyone have any experience with wearing this fabric in hot weather? It looks sort of heavy and not very breathable to me, but I wanted to check. Or are there any other suggestions for fabrics to avoid or fabrics that might be good for hot weather?
Thanks!
