Hey guys! I don’t want to post a pic right now (I will tomorrow) but I just got my veil…
I love the silk tulle but the cut is really ruffly.. I wanted a pencil edge, which it is- but it almost looks scalloped or something which I don’t really like. I wanted it to look more straight- it looks kind of ruffled…
The designer spent SO much time going over every little detail with me…she was SO patient. I changed my mind a million times and I feel quite guilty after all of her patience and kindness to bring this issue up to her…
Ugh- I’m just venting. Once I post a picture I would like to see what everyone thinks…

@Evie19: Awww 🙁 I can tell you feel down. You need to post a picture and of your dress for those who didn’t see it.

Is it possible that it needs some steaming to make it hang straighter?

Im interested to see a picture!

@PitBulLover: I wish I could pull it out for a pic but FI is here and moving around the house trying to get ready and I really need to get dressed too!
Sorry to post about this without a picture but I just HAD to vent…ugh.
I will get back soon with some pics I promise!

@Evie19: Aww boo! You were so excited about the dress and now the veil has you down! 🙁 Be sure to share so we can see it!

Post a pic. I betcha it just needs a good steaming.

🙁 I hope it turns out ok! It sounds like the seller may have had the tension too high on the sewing machine that was used to make the veil. This could account for the wavy edge. I hope you can get it to straighten out 🙂

I HAVE PICS! Grr I am not a happy camper.
@missapis: I think that must have been it…
(sorry for bad quality pics)
Ok, below is the blusher in front of my face:
Here is the blusher after I pull some of the fabric back- it’s better but still ruffled
Here you can see the scalloped, ruffled look even when I pull the tulle totally straight (SORRY for the cleavage shot!)
Here’s how it falls with me standing
If I need to take more pictures, let me know. I’m not sure if these are adequate.
How does it look?
Is the ruffled/scalloped thing distracting? Or does it look normal?
Thanks bees, don’t know what I would do without you all!!

I am suprised that the maker agreed to put a pencil edge on silk tulle, and am more suprised that she didn’t tell you that it would be wavey as the silk stretches in sewing. I do think the veil looks beautiful, but if you are not happy with it you have a few choices: you can go with a simple cut edge or you can add lace, remember that the lace will weigh the silk tulle down and will not have the same flow.

@tksjewelry: Thanks tks! I remember you warning me about pencil edge a month or so ago…
Without a pencil edge, does the raw look seem unfinished? Im worried it does not look tailored…(I have limited experience with these things)
Also- I cannot put lace. My dress has no lace and a lot of beadwork so it just wouldn’t look right…
I assume it’s too late for her to take off the pencil edge if it comes to that to make it raw? Id have to get a whole new veil?
